I switched from a private school to a public school at the beginning of the year (sept. 7), and I am thinking of asking my parents to let me switch back. Before you think that I'm some rich kid who "can't stand public school", see my pros/cons:

    Why I should switch:

All of my friends are at my previous school - fringe benefit, but I only have one friend at my current school who is leaving next year to go to a better school.

Better teachers - the teachers at my current school are either out of control with assignments, or give almost none, i.e. I have a teacher who has currently assigned the three major essays one after the other over the course of three weeks. We didn't even get the rubric from the first essay back until end of the third essay. I also have two teachers who give the minimum amount of homework every day and never check it.

Better/Healthier food - Before you chalk this up to me being a spoiled brat, I've gained 10 pounds since the beginning of school (while having no desserts/fatty foods, so it's not like I'm eating ice cream and pizza everyday).

Less stress - My current school has a system that allows for me to check my grades in the same time that it takes for a computer to turn on. This stresses me out because my parents hold me to VERY high standards (nothing below a B+ is accepted, and I'm supposed to have all A-'s,), so if I see that I recently got a bad grade on something that dropped me from a 90 to an 85, I have trouble dealing with it. (I currently have a 93, a 90, a 98, a 94.5, and an 81.25 (the teacher is VERY tough and has only given major projects, see better teachers)

Nicer/less crazy students - I have been bullied repeatedly from the beginning of the year by a multitude of people in a multitude of ways, in front of teachers and away from them. I have been chased from the school by people multiple times.

Less wasted time - I have 5 class periods worth of time that is wasted every school day, which is mostly due to the fact that I know EVERYTHING that is being taught to me, i.e. my spanish class is 2-3 years behind me, my English class is a year behind me, the highest math class in the school is a year behind me, and I've barely been taught anything in science yet so I'm not even sure where they are, but from what I've seen, they're two years behind me.

Homework - I'm used to having at least two hours of homework a night, but now I often come home ready to get to work and find that I have none.

    Why I shouldn't switch:

Humoring my parents - Hoping that their right and next year will be "better".

General costs - My parents can afford my previous school, but I don't want to put stress on their finances.

I'm not sure this is really the right place to ask, but I wish you luck in finding advice.

Who else am I supposed to ask? Asking this to the students of my current school would be a horrible idea, asking my previous school's students wouldn't work because they would tell me to come back, asking my parents is what I'm trying to figure out here, and asking my siblings results in them being biased as well. Also, my math figures that the chances of anyone who even knows my name in my current school finding this is less than .0000003% or 1 in 300 million so I like my chances of no one I know finding this.

Honestly, I think you should switch back. Switching from private to public so suddenly isn't the easiest thing to acclamate to. You're much more likely to be better off at your old (or another) private school where you'll have friends, educational benefits, and preferable conditions.

Really though, stick to your gut feeling and either go or stay at the place you want to be. This is a big decision and I recommend consulting others on this. Anyway, good luck!

if economical possible I would advise you to swith back.
if that's not possible I would try to talk with your teachers and try to see if you can sit with a higher grade on your spanish/english classes and maybe finish them early (do the finals early)
