    Gandalf was talking to a balrog, NOT A NAZGUL. Besides, it's lord of the ringS so there are MORE RINGS OF POWER. Sauron just gave some to 9 men who became slaves to his will.
    As for the abyss part, balrogs are maiar corrupted by Melkor, who was cast into the abyss, so Gandalf is giving a threat.
