    The world was turned to stone by a mentally disabled sorcerer, all except this house, owned by an old lady with magic hobbies.
    [the landscape is crap because I'm crap at landscape, that's how it works xP]

    I think the part that stands out to me the most would have to be that I can't see a clear distinction between the structure of the building and the roof. There's no contrasting factor that really determines that a part from the slant. :c
    Disregarding the terrain that you mentioned you didn't like, it's a lovely start. :)

    I really like the house!

    To make the terrain look a bit better, you can mix in some cyan clay (159:9) to make some dark spots, where the magic effected it the most.

    Here are some things I don't like

    Structure:
    -The roof uses the same blocks as the walls of the house, use a different block for the roofs
    -Add an overhang on the roof (for more depth)

    Terrain:
    -Bad pallet

    Tips for terrain

    World edit:
    //brush sphere 25%stained_clay:5,25%stained_clay:13,25%grass
    //mask stone,grass,stained_clay,gravel

    Voxel:
    /b over d2
    /v grass
    Use arrow

    Looks great, although I'd try to change up the blocks for the roof a little more. Brick roof with brick house can get a little repetative

    Everyone's talking about the roof, so I'll talk about the base! >=)

    When you're building a base/structure for a build, make sure that it looks supported by surrounding blocks. This adds to the exterior of the house as well as adding purpose and depth. Cobblestone works well as a baseline for the house. If you want to get into more detail, have the house step out a block (an overhang). Typically, medieval houses were built this way because they were only taxed on base floor space. This meant they could build outwards and not be taxed extra. Anyways, an overhang gives lots of possibilities. For one, a balcony would be a nice touch! Just make sure your depth is stepping out there.

    One easy way to make things appear aged, especially in a brick house, is to add (by hand) degraded areas. This can be accomplished by using stones like Granite and Smooth Granite (for this case).

    And of course listen to what they say about the roof. =)
