How Can I Get Actual Feedback For Gm Applications?

Hello,

For the past few months I have been submitting GM applications in hopes of eventually joining the Content Team. However, I'm starting to get a bit irritated in regards to "feedback". For the past three times I have submitted (which has included an entire quest dialogue and explanation of the puzzles, the addition of visuals, a complete rewrite of the entire quest, and so on), I have been denied with no clue as to what is "bad" about my application.

All I get is this generic bot message:

At this point I'm hesitant to revise anything because if an entire quest rewrite can't create a different message I don't know what will. I've tried contacting main GMs about it, but they refuse to give me any sort of response or feedback.

So, I ask the question: How the heck do I find out what I need to improve in order to have a shot at acceptance?

I just want some sort of constructive criticism so I can find my weak spots and improve them. This whole thing is like you getting a D on an essay and the professor giving you absolutely nothing to improve on. Without feedback, there can be no improvement.

Here's a plan
1. Find out where Lotem lives (stay with me)
2. Force him to tell u where Jumla'a cage is kept. (Ok he knows... I asked him)
3. Spill tea on Jumla until he begs for mercy and tells u where Grian lives. (Then spill some coffee on Jumla to be nice and apologise)
4. Stalk Grian untill he heads to Salted's house.
5. Assult Salted, duck tape him to his compitee chair, and force him to look at ur application.
6. Get feedback.
7. Go give Jumla more coffee
8. Go build something out of sponge for grain.

This is a problem for me as well.
I find that harassing @Selvut283 worked well for me, and in general, asking other GMs to take a look at your app is helpful

Harassing content team members to look at your stuff doesn't make you look very good to them...

I really appreciated his help, and I try to not be rude. I use the word harassing as a joke because the excess of questions that I end up asking him does annoy him a little bit.

This is not helpful at all. This is something that will probably get me banned from Wynncraft, or even worse, sent to prison for several years. Please, I'm looking for helpful responses since this is a serious issue, and jokes/swearing is not what I want to see as the first post.

I'd rather not harass mods since I'm not someone who believes that is okay. I'd rather keep conversations as peaceful as possible, especially for someone who has more power over me. And besides, like @JuicedBananas said, it will probably end up keeping me out of the Content Team all together.

I will just mention that I have tried to contact GMs about this issue. As of now, my initial PM is still unanswered, and my last conversation with Selvut in game only replicated the annoying bot messages (he literally said the same three generic things when I asked him for feedback). So please, do not post meaningless jokes here, since I really want to get into the CT and the only real way to get there is through some sort of feedback for my errors.

 

Actually, the only way to actually get feedback is by pming a ct member from what I know. If you look at the wynncradt bot's signature, that's basically what it says. Also

 

Ok, serious time... u can't. I'm sorry, but u said "bot message" and the CT/ moderators don't have time to make a personalised PM for everyone who applied. I had this problem as well, but there's nothing you can do but keep applying.

 

This is not true. It's perfectly fine to ask CT members to review your application, so long as you're not a dick about it.

Stop talking about just the joke. It's over and done with, so it doesn't need to become some sort of flame war. I only ask that the answers on this thread are valid and helpful, not false or impossible to do because of it being a joke.

The problem I have is that the CT members are not responding to my PMs, which leaves me with nothing to revise. And, the CT have helped others who have asked for feedback as well. I'm pretty sure the "you can't get any response" would be seen as rude by other players, so the least they can do is provide feedback so you will eventually get in.

Besides, they always seem to be looking for mew members anyways. If they want new members, why wouldn't they want to help a devoted person succeed in their goal?

 

PMing content team members is the best way, if one GM isnt answearing, try another one.

 

The problem is that I have no idea who the heck read my application. For all I know, the ones who judged it are the ones who won't respond...

I'll try re-sending my initial PM to several GMs and see if anyone actually replies.

That's why I won't send my app too early...

 

It really doesn't matter if you get denied; you can just revise it and send a new application.

Also, I managed to get a hold of a few GMs who are giving me advice, so I plan on revising my quest sometime soon.

 

Yeah, as you said the problem is if they don't tell you the points you need to improve.
