"Did you even ask them if that was their intention?"

 

"...No." I admit.

 

"Do you want to ask me now?"

 

"Well...?"

 

"How am I supposed to know, though? The dragon probably doesn't even speak English!" I say defensively.

 

"Any writing?"

 

"Some garbled stuff." I say.

 

"She can't write very well."

 

I shrug, not sure of what to say.

 

"It is a pretty random trait."

 

"Did you try getting Cecil to help translate?"

 

"No." I admit.

 

"Are you going to ask?"

 

Crystal appears dejected when the puppy went away, but is quickly elated again when handed the asleep puppy, which he quickly starts doing goofy and completely unnecessary things with him.

 

"I immediately regret my decision." Cecil whispered to you.

 

I examine the vase.

 

"About giving Crystal the dog? Eh, he's having fun. You can do a lot when you can shapeshift."
I respond, look at Crystal, who, at this moment, is rising and lowering the sleeping dog on a platform made of himself, while raising and lowering his eyes, which are fixated on looking at the puppy.

 

It's made of wired-together pieces of stained glass. Ornate, shimmers in the sunlight, but broken. Looks like a projectile went through it, and, upon closer inspection, into the skull.

 

"This is odd." I say, and then put the remains back in.
"Do whatever you wish with it, I have no interest in taking any of it." I say to Ren.

 

Ren puts the items back and closes the box.
"Don't have use."
