"I can always summon another puppy."

 

"So that's an excuse for you attempting to kill her, because it's the thought that counts?" Rineth says, Ruby showing herself, winking, then disappearing.

 

"I think he would notice, wouldn't you?" I say, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes." I say flatly.

 

"Who was that?!"

"I think he just wants a puppy in general."

 

Rineth just looks at you, confused.
"...What?"

 

I shrug, "I don't want to steal a puppy from someone else." I say.

"Don't you already have puppies back at the-" I quickly cover Artemis' mouth before she finishes, keeping the puppy resting on my other arm.

"Ah, heh heh, don't worry about that," I say, "Agh, Artemis! Don't lick my hand like that!"

Artemis giggles to herself as I quickly remove my hand.

"Yes." I say again, trying to not act befuddled.

 

"I didn't even ask a follow up question!" Rineth sighs.

 

"Well, uh, neither did I!" I say accusingly.

 

"Ok, now you give me Crystal's puppy."

 

I pass the sleeping puppy back to Cecil as gently as possible.

 

Rineth just stands there, trying to pretend none of this just happened.

"...Can you not kill friends of friends?" Rineth sighs.

 

"No, I think I'd be capable of killing them. Anyone, really." I say, grinning.

 

Rineth sighs.
"Well, I shouldn't have expected anything else out of a shadow." He mutters, laying back down.

"Thank you." Cecil whispered. She placed him in Crystal's arms.

"That's racist." I say, offended.

"...Well, I have the power to kill whatever I want. So, yeah." I say.

 

"That aside, it'd be great if you stopped terrorizing creatures on our side."

 

"I would like that too."

 

"I will if they wouldn't terrorize my girlfriend." I say flatly.
