— UPDATE 4.30.2017 —​

It has been a long while since the last update, the logo, was released. No, Wynnstory is not another dead story. It has been in deep development during the pause of activity.
Unfortunately, I will have to push the release date back until further notice. As the days go by, new ideas are sprouting and being implemented into Wynnstory. Because of this, I want to make sure I add everything I want and to refine every bit of story there is.

This is not the only information and news I will provide today. I will reveal some details to those who have been waiting or are interested in Wynnstory.

- Current changes:

• Format redone.
• Thread information sections removed or changed.
  
• More depth and characterization to Ellis Moria.
• Ryia now plays a bigger role in story and character development.
• Pacing is greatly slowed down.
• Average chapter lengths increased.

— UPDATE 8.5.2017 —​

Hello. Didn't expect an update now, did you? I have some massive news for the entire story. Depending on where you stand - whether you were wanting to read this because it's related to Wynncraft or the original story elements - you may be on the fence for this decision.
I have decided to sever ties with Wynncraft for this project (I will still play it, just not write about it). It has been brought to my attention by my friend that copyright and such may meddle with the production of this work. Unfortunately, the title we are familiar with will have to change, along with Wynncraft provinces, cities, and characters. I do have big plans as an aspiring author; I am serious about creating this. It isn't just a side project for fun, although I do enjoy making it, a lot (it's not my actual job yet, though).

All that aside, onto the good part. Now that I am no longer bound by Wynncraft's world and rules, I can go crazy with my own concepts and world building. With all that said, I have a ton of reinventing and creating to do. That's not to say I don't have any ideas right now, however.

Spoiler: Writing Format

The formatting of Wynnstory is the way the story is presented to the reader. This particular format may be a head-scratcher or even a turn-off for some people, but it is a format that I have come to like. This isn't the first time I have used such a format; a similar formatting has been used in the first short story I have ever written, SkyTown 2014. It has also been used in the discontinued Wynnstory 2016 version, but revamped in the current Wynnstory.
The main reason of using it being: this format tells my story better because it has more "freedom" when it comes to writing it. Not only that, Wynnstory is not a novel, it is something else completely.
Spelling is in American English.

Wynnstory Specials are canon stories of characters or entire arcs. Specials are meant as a separate source to read about characters and more, all in one big "chapter" after it is revealed in the normal chapters.
There is no particular limit or goal for Specials. These vary depending of what story is being told within the Special.

Spoiler: Length

There is no current estimate for the length of Wynnstory.
The length of chapters is meant to mirror short 10-minute episodes. Why I chose to do this is mainly the amount of content Wynnstory will have to offer. There will be a lot of dialogue and short stories of other characters.

I had the same problem, too when I had to name my story. I wanted it to be "Story of Wynn" and a couple others that were already taken and I wasn't very fond of the title "Wynnstory" at the beginning, but it's grown on me.

Let's just say I have rewritten/reinvented the prologue about several times since September (there has been quite a few walls I had to overcome and a lot of research I had to do just to write it sufficiently). I still have to shorten the length and have it be proofread; there is also the chance of another rewrite, as well.
And I wouldn't consider this a necro because it's an ongoing thing.

— Burnt settlement, Fruma Province | Early morning —​

【Vahn / ♂ / Age 37】​

▶ The morning rays of sunlight shine on the ashes of what was once a small, unmapped settlement; the overwhelming stench of

burnt wood and corpses engulf the air within it. Vahn searches every house in hopes of finding survivors. Among the crumbled remnants of the houses, only an 11-year-old boy, Cedric, seems to have survived whatever ordeal caused the settlement to vanish. Cedric is unconscious on a wooden floor that is covered in dried-up blood with one of his legs caught under fallen rubble. Although lucky to be alive, he still has burns across his body and an injured leg.​

▶ Vahn cautiously removes the beam and fallen roofing from Cedric’s leg. Upon clearing away the last piece of charred wood, he

gasps at an unsightly image. Two crushed corpses lie beneath a chunk of the fallen house on the opposite side of the room. One, a young woman; the other, a child the same age as Cedric. Both were people Vahn was close with. Vahn turns his head the other way and covers his mouth so that he wouldn’t vomit. The smell is already overwhelming. That sight, on top of the other corpses, made it worse.​

▶ There were no carts or caravans, so Vahn carries the injured boy all the way back to the safety of his home. After two hours of

walking, he steps up to his front door. His wife, Jane, bursts through the entrance to greet him with a concerned look.​

【Jane / ♀ / Age 38】​

Jane: "What happened? You suddenly ran out after the sky flashed."

▶ He faces her with a troubled expression.

Vahn: "It’s something I don’t ever want to see again…"

Jane: "Vahn, tell me, what happened?"

▶ They lay Cedric down on a bed in the spare room and patch his wounds up. After doing so, they sit at the window-side table

while Vahn explains what he saw at what used to be, the settlement Cedric lived at. Jane slams her hand on the table and covers her face in distress.​

Vahn: "I know, but we need to take care of Cedric first. He needs someone to be with him. Lord knows what he’s seen."

▶ Thud. They hear something fall from the spare room and charge into it to see Cedric awake, but on the floor in pain, clutching

his injured leg. Vahn gently picks him up and lays him back on the bed. Cedric flinches.​

Vahn: "I know it hurts. Just try to deal with it for now."

Cedric: "Where’s mother?"

Vahn: "… For now, just rest. Your leg needs to heal before you can walk."

Cedric: "But how did I get hurt? I don’t remember from yesterday when I played with Blake and Nar."

Vahn: "Does he not remember anything? That doesn’t matter right now. Lay down and don’t move too much."

Cedric: "Can you at least tell me where mother is?"

Vahn: "She’s too busy to deal with kids, so she sent you here. If you need anything, call for us."

▶ Vahn and Jane exit the room and shut the door behind them.

Vahn: "Help me next time, will you."

Jane: "I didn’t know what to say either…"

Vahn: "In any case, we’ll need to tell him at some point. Do you know how?"

Jane: "Of course not. Nothing like this has ever happened before."

▶ Vahn sighs with a saddened expression.

Vahn: "I’m going out to the fields. I’ll be back later."

▶ He grabs his straw hat and exits through the screen door. He realizes he needs his gloves, so he walks to the back of the house

outside where Cedric is resting. The dirt-covered gloves are hanging over the rim of a bucket.​

▶ Tap tap tap. He hears repetitive tapping on the wooden wall from the inside of Cedric’s room.

Vahn: "Poor soul… It’s worse to have the memories flood back at once than just remembering it…"
