Do We Know About This Yet?

It really puzzled me when i first saw it and wanted to see if we had any information on what the Engineer (located outside of Selchar near the pier) is talking about.

Thing is, it doesn't really fit with Corkus. I'm pretty sure the Corkus Delegate says something like 'One day, all will be able to visit our wonderful province' which makes no sense if it's invite only.

 

I think they are saying its invite only right now

 

They closed it cos it has a malfunctioning machine issue. Don't know why you'd invite people to see your murderous machines.

Could be, although Fruma does not look particularly 'advanced' from what we can see of it (The entrances). Also the imperial guard says no one is allowed to cross the border. At all.
Oh, and also magical knowledge is withheld from the public and reserved for the monarchy, who wouldn't spend their time making machines for their people.
And how did the engineer escape Fruma?

My opinion is that the Engineer is from when they decided Corkus would be a real thing, but before they knew what exactly it'd be like so they might've planned it to be invite only. It's like that piece of seaskipper dialogue which says Corkus is a myth despite the fact that it's massive and trying very hard to get noticed.

 

Maybe, but the lore talks about fruma being more magical, and Corkus more scientific

well being an engineer doesn't mean he's from Corkus
we see numerous pieces of engineering even in gavel and wynn (rymek canyon elevators and the water system at the base seen in "General's Orders")

Does not prove he's from Corkus. Electromagic can be found in Gavel and, for all we know, Fruma.

 

why are you being so tough? Only the Royalty in Fruma uses magic according to the library, so the working class wouldn't have it, plus, with this with holding of info the country wouldn't be more advanced. In Gavel yes they have it, but its not widespread, not much more advanced then wynn. So yes It's corkus. And its not dern because that wouldn't make any sense.
