What IS he?

 

A pumpkin?? And a seemingly murderous one at that.

 

Could be connected... Names sound a bit similar, both assumed to be scientists...

And apparently this one is a pumpkin. Failed experiment?

If I had to make a guess, depumply is basically dejemble's nemesis. There are signs in the building talking about how "blasted dejemble" cloned himself, and than depumply talks about how he is going to attack djembles wyble... (aka: honeydew)

 

Hmm... True... If there's something pertaining to pumpkins in either province, we should check that for hoppers. It wouldn't hurt to check the melon clones, either.

I'm pretty sure this was an old Easter egg in Troms that features two rival scientists who are a melon and a pumpkin. There was an earlier thread showing the melon professor, and this is the nemesis of him. Whenever they added the Wybels to the towns, they added the Honeydew Wybel there to probably correlate with the written lore in the attic/second floor of the house.

Also, you get a nice scene of Honeydew and Depumply fighting to the death...

Ok so ill try to tell you what I know.
This is Dejemble:

And this is what Depumply says on a series of signs:


They are rival scientists. It seems like Dejemble beat Depumply for something, and Depumply went to kill Dejemble. When he did, however, he found that Dejemble cloned himself. I've only seen the Dejemble in troms, and the Dejemble on Zhight Island, but I would assume there are more of him around the map.

 

There is one in a boat in the Ocean... Somewhere... Don't remember which...

 

It bugs me when I find a thread like this and it actually hasn't been archived on the forums before meanwhile I've found it in-game and I'm all "I could have made this thread uhuhuhuh"

Heheheheheheh... I remember this, way back in 2014... Am I the only one that remembers the whole story? Hey @SPYROHAWK you do know the story at least, right?

I only knew about djemble, I have been playing for more than two years and I never even heard of this new professor either on forums or in game.

 

Depumply wanted Djembles position/research, so he plotted to kill him. Djemble knew this and cloned himself. The clones fled to all over Wynn/ocean and hid
Depumply then killed Djemble
