[rp] Small Beginnings - [9/9] Players - Applications Closed

OOC: k. I haven't been on the forums lately tho. Midsester finals and all. Also I can't see what I'm typing so I hope this comes out right. Stupid phone.

 

Yeah that's cool. I'm guesing you're preparing for finals (although you said something about mid-semester..? idk but i had my midterms a month ago so im kinda confused).

If you would so kindly wait for tomorrow before devoting your soul to school, that would be great. I might be able to write a reply for the events that are going on tonight so maybe it'll come tonight instead of tomorrow.

 

You jump down into complete darkness. You feel the wind rustling your cloak, and it seems no time has passed at all. Suddenly you hit something hard, and roll.

Kazuki (so ima try writing this in 3rd person again. if you want me to write in 2nd person just tell me and ill switch)

Kazuki groaned. Sunlight streamed in through the open window and upon the wind he caught a whiff of smoke. He sat straight up in bed as last night's memories came flooding back to him. The battle. And Damien.
Kazuki peered over at the other bed. Damien was sleeping peacefully, his chest slowly rising and falling.
He stood up, only to groan again and stoop over. He hurt everywhere - especially his sword arm. It felt like it could fall off. He slowly stood up, arching his back as he did so, and looked around for his armor, unaware that he had fallen asleep with it on.
A few minutes later, Kazuki grabbed his sword, stuck it in his sheath, and walked downstairs, massaging his shoulder as he went.
"Hey! Barkeep!"
A sturdy man came trundling over. He had reddish, almost brown hair and a maroon vest over a white shirt (think WWII era-france).
"Well, what can I get for ya?"
Kazuki peers at the man.
"You're not the same guy as before."
"Well, yeah. Th' other guy's sleeping."
"Ah. Right. Well, uh... I'd like a cup of coffee. Black."
"On it."
Kazuki (who seems to have forgotten his shyness) pulls out a stool and sits on it. He looked out of the window, at Nemract - or what was left of Nemract. He saw two buildings smoking and another one completely burned down, having only the wooden beams for the frame left. He sighed.
" 'Aight. Here ye are."
The barkeep thunked a large mug of steaming hot coffee in front of Kazuki.
" 'S free of charge. I saw what ye did last night."
He clapped Kazuki on the shoulder - his other shoulder.
"Uh... thanks, I guess," Kazuki said. He grabbed the mug and stepped outside.

You slowly stand up, and summon a small ball of white light in your hand. You see carven walls, roughly hewn. There is a clear path of what seems to be cobblestones leading on.
The cobblestones seem really stupid. You'd have to excavate/dig up the ground you want to put the stones in (so make a hole) then put the stones in then put some filler stones in and its just a really bad idea...

 

Do I get to enter yet?

(I don't care if you do second or third person, it's your rp, after all, though 3rd person sounds weird to me since I am writing stories for fun (but won't share them, too shy about creative stuff), and, in school, am reading a book in first person, so third person is something I'm not being actively exposed to.)

I'll wander the town and see how much damage had been done.

 

So somehow you escaped the battle.

I guess I have to tell that now. (2nd person this time because im inconsistent)

You wake up to the tumult of the battle. You see the guy who stabbed you, far off in the distance, fighting a skeleton. Your ears are ringing. You shake your head and stand up.
um so i just realized something

You can't really fight in your nightmare form because of strike of purity. it nullified your ability to fight in nightmare form for 6 hours.

A few minutes after Kazuki killed the skeleton, your minions picked your body up and carried it out of Nemract, hiding so that the Wynnic forces wouldn't see you.


You groan. The sun is shining down on your eyes, and it's blinding. You slowly sit up. You're on a hill, overlooking Nemract. You look down and see Nemract - still standing, but much of the town has been burnt. You sigh, and amble your way slowly back to the nether portal.

When you finally reach the nether realm, CoW is waiting directly inside the nether portal. You hear a booming voice in your head.
You failed to protect Nemract.
"Yes. However, it seems like they are in poor defenses. It would be very easy to destroy them now."
I see. We shall wait for night, then. Take a small platoon of soldiers.
"My lord... that is not enough. There were superb fighters there... they could easily wipe out a platoon."
So... 'Heroes?' I see. Take two of my lieutenants as well as the platoon. You are free to command them as you wish.
"Of course, my lord."
CoW held up a hand.
Not until nightfall. Come. Rest, and then you shall be ready.
"Of course, my lord."
CoW leads you to a room, where there is plenty of food and nourishment. A healer is waiting. You groan and let yourself be healed.
Nightfall. So soon, yet... it will seem like an eternity.. Heh....

I wake up now I guess. I look down at my left arm. Ugh, I'll need to do something about this. Kazuki seems to have already left.

Getting up, my limbs ache and my throat burns. I manage to get downstairs. I order some food and a glass of water.

Or would this count as light, since you're corrupted?

A man comes cheerfully walking down the stairs and heads for you. He pulls out a stool and sits down. He's wearing some leather armor and a cloak. You recognize him as the healer - from last night.
"Hey," he says, but he's not looking at you. "Barkeep. I'd like some eggs on toast with a nice glass o' coffee, if you can do that for me."
The barkeep nods, and lumbers off to do his work (apparently he's the chef now).
His food arrives. He looks over at you.
"So," he says, between mouthfuls of food. "Ah... how are you, I guess?"
You raise an eyebrow at him.
"Ah... right." He reaches out his right hand. "I'm Geoffry. A mage."
"Damien." You shake his hand.
"Nice meeting ya."
"Er... same, I guess."
"So, you were one of the fellas who helped save this town?"
"Um. Yeah."
"Hey uh... there was the other guy. Y'know, who was with you."
"Oh. Yeah, his name's Kazuki."
The mage nods.
"Alright." He takes another gulp of his coffee, finishing it out. He hops off the stool and heads for the door. He stops, and looks back at you.
"You coming?"
"Sure."

You walk out into the town. Everywhere you go, you smell smoke and burnt wood. The town is in ruins. Many of the houses are burned down to their foundations and many that are not are singed. It seems that miraculously that the bar is unharmed. You see Kazuki off in the distance, also observing the buildings.
You run towards him, Geoffry tailing at your heels.
"Kazuki!"
He turns, a surprised look on his face.
"Damien! Er..."
You smile.
"It's fine."
"So... we won."
"Yeah."
"Hey uh... I'm here," Geoffry blurts out.
"Oh! Hey you're that healer!"
"Actually, I'm a mage," Geoffry says, a hurt expression on his face.
Kazuki laughs.
"Sorry."
You smile at their ongoing exchange.
So we won, huh? But at great cost to the people of Nemract...
A voice breaks your train of concentration.
"Are you the people who saved Nemract?" A guy asked. He's wearing an iron chestplate, better quality than what you'd see normally. Emblazoned upon his chest is the crest of Ragni.
"Er... yeah," you say.
"Ah. His Royal Majesty King Charles Roion the III requests you to come, and meet him at his palace in Ragni. He wishes to commend you."
Does news really travel that fast? And 'requests?' More like demands, you think.
"Of course. We shall come as fast as we can," Kazuki replies.
"Good, good. I'll wait."
You, Kazuki and Geoffry head back to the tavern/bar/im inconsistient.
"So... uh Geoffry... are you coming with us?" Kazuki asks. He seems more nervous - like he was when he first met you.
"Sure," Geoffry says, and shrugs. "Why not?"
"Well... uh we'd have to pack and stuff. Before going. To Ragni, I mean."
You head up the stairwell, and into your room. Kazuki sits down on the bed. He look up at you.
"Well uh... we don't really have much to pack, do we?" He laughs.
"No, guess not."

An hour later Geoffry knocks at your door.
"I'm ready."
"Alright. Let's go."
You meet the messenger right out of the front door and head for Ragni.
