Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The liquid is drawn away from Iruk and frozen into balls. The walls seem thick and sturdy, able to withstand the liquid eating away at them before it's frozen. A large tunnel appears in the floor which the balls of liquid are sent down, and a hatch opens up in the room carrying the new wings.

 

Freezing the liquid is taxing, but Iruk seems to relax after seeing the liquid dealt with.

 

The water guardian just manages to hang on with the last of his energy as the wings are delicately and precisely attached to Iruk.

 

Iruk opens his eyes slowly, surprised he wasn't shut down.
"Damn... impressive." He mutters.

 

"Try 'em out lad." The fire guardians voice says through speakers.

 

Iruk attempts to use the jets to gain height before gliding down.
"Feels like the bio in the simulations." Iruk says.

 

The wings work perfectly, fully responsive and pin-point accurate to Iruk's movement.

"Why don't you get some practise in while we finish up the new arms eh?" The fire guardian says, the group leaving the room behind the glass. The earth guardian carries the water guardian out, the water guardian having passed out. The doors open up again, letting in a wave of heat.

 

"Am I stuck in this room 'til then?" Iruk shouts after them, still recalibrating himsef to the new wings.

 

"You don't have to stay in there if you don't want to." The air guardian says from the other side of the open doors.

 

Iruk hastily leaves, water-like gel dripping from his torso.

 

Honestly, how will you possibly compile this all into a series of books?

 

It's not fun.

 

There's not just the matter of organizing it into chapters 'n' shit, but also making sure that the story flows smoothly. Does each significant part of the story seem to have some kind of beginning, middle, and end?

 

Not all, which is a pain. There's also making sense of details and events before the story technically starts, which also is a pain.

 

Ack. Well, best of luck to you if you attempt such a task, even if you have to change up the storyline some.

 

"Are you ok?" The air guardian asks, noticing the gel.

 

"Overheating." Iruk grunts.

 

"Oh, uh." The air guardian focuses, and a cool breeze circles Iruk.

 

"Thanks." Iruk says, the liquid slowly gelling again.

 

"So, uh, what are you doing here?" The air guardian asks curiously, trying to be polite.
