I rolled a 16, but I also have +2 on wisdom and +2 proficiency on perception, so I got a 20.

 

Ok. I am glad you said it that way. You ALWAYS need to specify the roll you got before modifiers. A 20 before modifiers is always crit and a 1 before modifiers does not add modifiers.

You get to the book ok. It's a white book with a gold sun on the cover. The book is closed but you can see it is thick and the pages seem to be golden.

You can see that the door does not look door does not look to sturdy. Definitely too thick to break by hand, but something heavy could smash it. Don't forget the librarian is still around.
