Is there a way to dispose of quest items that are no longer needed?

E.g. Factory helmet, slime scooper, and creeper helmet (after doing that one part of Temple of Legends)

I've heard that placing them in a new character and then deleting the character can work, but there should really be a legit way of getting rid of them once they're no longer needed.

As for now, you're gonna have to use the glitchy ways to get rid of them.
However, there is supposedly a quest item bank coming soon that may solve the problem.

Fill inventory with emeralds, while holding quest item in your mouse.

    Put it in crafting grid.

    Close out of tab.

Item can not go back into inv due to full inv

    ???

    proft?

You should hold onto them in case quests get implemented in the future that need them.

Actually I recently tried a glitchy way of getting rid of them, by placing them in a treasure chest and instant closing it. It technically worked, but then the quest items magically re-appeared in my inventory a minute later

There's no guarantee that they'll be needed again, and otherwise it's just wasted bank space. Besides worst comes to worst and they are needed some time in the distant future, I can use /fixquests, and if that doesn't work, I'll probably have a second main character by then doing quests
