    It has some to our attention that this campaign has been significantly slowing down as more of us don't bother to check the forums anymore. As such, we are moving the campaign to discord.

    So hey! I want to DM a campaign for peoples!

    We will be using the 5e stuff, and a bunch of links are up above if you know nothing about DnD.

    Aside from the normal 5e stuff I will also be using Volo's guide, SCAG, Curse of Strahd, Xanathar’s, and Out Of the Abyss

    Run Homebrew through me first, but I will probobly say no. The only one I will say yes to without any second thought is Matt Mercer’s Blood Hunter.

    I will be accepting use of UA, with a few exceptions. Basically, if it’s a UA that has gone under revision and there’s a more recent UA that is more balanced or fleshed out or whatever, use the most recent version. Likewise, if the UA was added into Xanathar’s or something, use the official version. Don’t use the Reverent subrace or Primeval Guardian ranger subclass because those are just OP. I would mention Lore Master too, but that’s already been revised into the Invention Wizard.

    I likewise allow the MtG Planeshift documents but don't use a race that already exists in normal DnD (like using the Innistrad Human or Zendikar Goblin, when they are already a thing)

    Creating a character:

    Since I can assume no one wants to spend hours looking for how to make a character, let me give you some insight. You need 4 things: dice (you always need dice), background, race, and class. Make sure to PM me abuot making a character, so I can help.

    Backgrounds basically state who you are before you became an adventure. There's a lot so I'm not going to list them, just google them. They mainly come from the PHB and SCAG.

    Next is Race, what kind of creature you are:
    So the races you can be are:

    Human - Generic fantasy human
    Elf - Generic fantasy elves
    Half-Elf- Cross between Elves and Humans
    Dwarf - Generic fantasy dwarves
    Half-Orc - Large brutes that came from an Orc and a Human
    Dragonborn - Dragon person. Choose a color for various breath weapons.
    Teifling - Long ago a city of humans made a pact with a demon. Their descendants were forever changed...
    Gnome - Tiny humanoids that are kind of stubby and magical. Several types.
    Halfling - Human, but half the size. Several types.
    Triton - Imagine of Elves spent all their time underwater where no other race could challenge their arrogance.
    Taxabi - Cat people, find secrets worth more than money.
    Lizardfolk - Lizard people. Have no problem eating the dead. Master craftsmen.
    Firbolg - 7 to 8 foot tall forest guardians.
    Goliath - Giant-type creatures that settle everything by strength.
    Kenku - Imagine a raven-person with no wings, can't talk, only imitate sounds, can't think for themselves but can copy anything.
    Aarkorca - Bird people. Yes, they can fly.
    Gensai - Children of the elemental planes. Choose fire, earth, air, or water.
    Aasimar - Imagine teiflings but instead of demon, angel.
    Orc - Generic fantasy Orcs
    Goblin - Generic fantasy Goblin
    Hobgoblin - Bigger goblinoid, lives in a military-like system
    Bugbear - stupid, lazy goblinoids, but very fast and strong
    Kobold - little dragon people, crafty
    Yuan-Ti Pureblood - magical snake people


    Next we have Classes, the most important thing. It's your main trait, what you actually are. Each class has several subclasses that I'm not going to go over right now.
    Artificer - Focused on making and using magical objects rather than spells, but does have some spells.
    Barbarian - Your heavy melee damage class. Can go into rage in battle.
    Bard - Music magic! Very good in social situations and being supportive, and VERY diverse. Jack of all trades.
    Cleric - Worships a god, gets magic from the god. Good with support, but can also be really damaging in combat.
    Druid - Nature magic. Can turn into an animal. Supportive, but also very diverse.
    Fighter - Typical tank dude. Basically your main melee guy, but can also be really effective at range. Due to their basic mechanics, can really be built in any fashion.
    Monk - Special martial weapons and unarmed strikes, mixed with the power of their Ki.
    Mystic - Who needs magic when you have psychic powers? Note: Does not use normal magic system
    Paladin - Mix of cleric and fighter. Basically a holy knight with a sworn oath. Good at melee and healing.
    Ranger - Mix of druid and fighter. Basically a natural fighter. Fair at both melee and range, and buffing.
    Sorcerer - Caster who's magic comes from within them. Hihgly damaging. Not as divserse spell-wise as Wizards are, but can twist magic itself to suit their needs.
    Warlock - Magic from a pact with an otherworldly entity, and gets a second subclass option too. Gives up magical power for magical enhancements. Note: Does not use normal magic system
    Wizard - Caster who's magic comes from study. Your typical spellcaster has access to the most spells. Highly diverse, think swiss-army-knife of spellcasters. Lacks healing though.

    Yeah... And I have perfectionism that may be worse than OCD (Damn you, autism side-effects!), so that would add time... Then there's the part where my mind automatically tries to pinpoint the best strategic options before anything... So it a will take a 'little' while...

    Yeah... Decisions aren't fun for me... So far I'm probably choosing to be an Aasimar that's either a monk, ranger, or paladin...

    Thats cool. Aasimar Paladin seems good, as most Aasimar tend to go Cleric or Paladin for the god who blessed them, but any work.

    True... I function well with a tactical class due to one of my main assets being strategy irl, any recommendations?

    Also, I'm basically the king of quirkiness at this point if you look at the region where I live and the people there (and american teenage males in general), so trends aren't something I'm used to, if you understand what I'm saying :P

    It ultimetly comes down to some simple desicion. Do you want to fight melee or cast spells.

    Plus Aasmir gets some super cool abilities that I forgot to mention. You choose between Scourge, Protector, or Fallen.

    Protector gets a cool wings-of-light thing. Scourge gets a exploding-light thing and Fallen gets undead stuff.

    (Thanks for helping me with this. Also, apparently one of my friends used to play D&D... I better not have known him then or I'll devour his soul...)

    I'll go for protector, and I'm honestly thinking of ranger rn, but my mind is prone to change.
