Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I... uh... oh boy... I don't actually know what gods look like." He sighs. "Gaia would probably scrap me if she saw my attempt once it's done."

 

"Nobod starts off perfect. I found drawing hard at first, but I got better with practise!" Eve says happily.

 

"Maybe I should just try guardian carvings. I know what they look like." Iruk says, turning around and making a slightly out-of-proportion forest guardian carving, somewhat resembling Artemis.

 

"That looks like it's going well!" Eve praises.

 

"I'll try one more time." Iruk sighs, dicing the carving into wood chips.

 

"Don't give up! If you erase all your attempts, you'll see no progression!" Eve says encouragingly.

 

"This is frustratingly difficult." Iruk growls, cutting a log clean in half out of spite.

 

Eve walks over to Iruk, grabbing a log.

"Here, let me try." Eve says, her hand changing to a blade which she uses to cut into the log.

 

"You already have experience with nonviolent arts." Iruk grumbles.

 

Eve chips away at the log, making what appears to be a wooden Iruk. She takes quite some time for the figurine to take shape, however.

 

"That's almost insultingly good." Iruk moans.

 

"It's not that good for a first try." Eve says.

 

"It looks like me. Isn't that close enough?"

 

"It looks sort of like you, as yours does sort of like Artemis. I think this could be a learning experience for both of us!" Eve says with a warm smile.

 

Iruk doesn't seem to see the upside.
"Something like that. Do you have any idea how hard it is to come to accept that you're completely inferior to someone?"

 

Eve just hugs Iruk.

 

Iruk doesn't budge, sighing.
"I know you don't want hard feelings between us, and I know you don't deserve them... It's just utterly demoralizing." He mutters.

 

Eve hugs Iruk tighter.

 

"I understand. Past can be hard to talk about."

 

Iruk puts one arm over Eve's shoulder, but the other claw is clenched in frustration.
"Thanks for trying, though."

"Yeah... no kidding..." Xephyr sighs.
Ihra pats her on the back, looking slightly downtrodden.
