Build Thanksgiving Table (mocking My Loney Builderness)

So I went ahead and made a Thanksgiving themed build inbetween finishing my End Town build (from Grian's video). And I killed two birds with one stone: Mocking me being a solo builder and the Thanksgiving build: Which turned into a long table in a mountain.

Notes:

- I did used MCEdit; the bit infront the door was copy and pasted until it would break out of the mountain space.
- The 5 unique chairs at the end represent me, my friend, bro, and cousin. The one with books is also me. Explanations of each can be provided if any would want it.
- the door is a 4x4 cross door by MumboJumbo
- the oddly off-center chandelier is ment to mark where the exit is

Hate it? Like it? Please tell me, I'll take any critisism; constructive or not!

 

World edit and the //stack

It looks really cool. All I can say is Happy Thanksgiving =)

 

Love to use World Edit, but I already have MCEdit and don't want to bother downloading the single player mod when I already have something that works. Maybe not better, but still works.

Eh, thought about something other than a 4x4 hole, might do this 4x4 lightning fast door I found last night. The cross door was simple and nice looking so I went with it for now.

Probebly going to put the lightning door in later.

It is very under detailed everywhere and the hall is very repetitive If you want me to go into further detail quote this message and I can right EVERYTHING wrong with this build (It will take a while to explain) but the concept/design is very good!

The repetativeness is because i just c&p'd a strip of the table over and over. And as for the under detailing, I do agree, maybe a few paintings or wall details could have been done.

Here's everything that could be better in the build (try to use your creativity, thats why I added very few examples. If you really struggle just ask and I'd be happy to list many different ideas of things you could do)

1. The walls of cobble are very bland, try adding some stone-brick or pots/shelves
2. The entrance is very bland for the type of build. It's a grand hall!!! try adding things such as pillars or a more cone shape just something that screams I'm impressive and important instead of just a simple frame
3. The table is very repetitive, usually big tables like that are scattered with food
4. Try adding more lanterns for lighting so that it fits a the theme of the build (Not saying that it is bad to have the torches just chandeliers would fit better)
5. A stone floor? For a GRAND HALL!?!?!?!??? Try adding formal path ways while keeping the build in a rustic theme.
6. The customized chairs are very under detailed when they are suppose to represent something. Try to be more creative while keeping the current size and shape of the chairs
7. To take up some of the blank space on the walls try adding indents with shelves, libraries, a kitchen, and so on
8. Lastly make the entrance open. It's a grand hall you should feel small and empowered when you enter, not dammit now I have to wait for a redstone piston door

1) As i said, I know they are a bit bland, will work on that, shelves though might be hard with the space.
2) Will do, and the door is not the cross door, it's this lightning 4x4. Opens & closes so fast the game can't render the movement. Ratherjust knows the blocks need to be here now. I will work on the details, and a better way of getting around the table.
3) Not a guy who likes random, rather symetrical and neatness. However I do think this will be for the better
4) More chandeliers? That can be done.
5) Thinking polished andesite, or a wood to replace the stone.
6) The four beside the grand one at the end or all five? The other four I could see to change them. Definitly the one with books and across from that one. Maybe the armor stand and the pink madness...
7) I was indeed thinkigg a kitchen would be a some thing to put in, as well as paintings. The shelves and library though i don't think would fit what is really just a over size dinning room.
8) See 2, the door is now so fast it shouldn't be a propblem. The only reason for the door is referencing how much I liked redstone before I got into building. Made the swith cuz redstone is infinitly harder to get a grasp at than building (imao).

I just want to applaud you for making your poll out of 100 and not 10. I have not seen others do that.

 

It avoids the "7.5/2.5" thing, thought of it like a 100 point test or essay. Didn't think much of the number i used in the poll. I'll have to remember this method for future build showings.
