"N-N-No...I-I need to s-see Iruk..." Eve says shakily, "I-Inside...o-o-of you..."

 

Rineth groans.
"Don't shoot." He mutters, holding his mouth open.

 

Eve psyches herself up, before stepping in.

"Eugh..." Eve says, walking toward Rineth's throat.

 

It's oddly dry, but Eve can sense Iruk halfway down Rineth's throat

 

Eve's eyes glow, and light pours from them like dual flashlights, allowing her to see down Rineth's throat.

 

Iruk turns hard, then cringes when he sees Eve.
"What, h-here to prove your dominance over me?" He asks, hands clenching a blade shakily.

 

Eve gasps, trying to prevent herself from going into attack mode and seriously harming Rineth and Iruk. Eve loses her footing and falls back onto Rineth's tongue, trying her best to fight her urges to attack.

 

Iruk nervously flies up to her, still holding the blade.
"I-if you really want me scrapped, take it outside."

 

"N-N-No, I-I-I d-d-don't f-feel l-l-like t-that!" Eve says, the light from her eyes flickering slightly.

 

Iruk pauses.
"What do you mean? The old bots always get scrapped by the newer ones..."

 

"N-No, n-not in m-my world, y-you can b-b-be s-something g-great! E-Even if y-you're o-old tecnology!" Eve says.

 

"I can be a second-rate killer... you make me obsolete." Iruk sighs, dropping his blade.
"Do you know what happens when I drop all of these?" He says shakily.

 

Eve shakes her head.

 

"I shut down, and the only way to reboot is to input a voice password. That I reset, and none of you know." Iruk says, trembling.

 

"W-W-Well, you could a-always put your t-tools and n-nature to use, r-right? Y-You're a killbot, s-so maybe you could be a mercenary?" Eve asks.

 

"A second rate killbot. It's... I was a prototype meant to be the best; being outdated just sucks."

 

"W-Well, I think b-being outdated is l-like an old v-video game," Eve says, calming down, "Just because they're old doesn't mean people don't still play them! Some people play super old games, even though there are ones far superior to it, or even better versions!"

"Just because you're old doesn't mean you're not still special. They might have removed some cool features in newer versions of your type that do amazing things!" Eve says happily.

 

"They removed the personality development and independent thinking." Iruk sighs. "That doesn't change that I'm not good at what I do. Furthermore, how would I learn to do something else? Ruby said my AI was difficult to work with."

 

"You could always do something with what you already know. You know how to kill people, so why not translate that into carving wood with your blade?" Eve asks.

 

"Hmm... What would I carve? What purpose do carvings serve?"
