Eve looks at where the blast came from, charging a shot at Ruby.


"Visions without context mean nothing." The Shadow says in an official tone.

 

It came from a hole in the chronosphere, Ruby protecting the group from it with a barrier.


"She wanted to take something Ruby was working on. If you don't care, then blood debt be against you." Lidnis says, suddenly worried.

 

Eve lowers her shot, albeit still suspicous.


"Then it's her fault for making it. Besides, it's probably your fault you've let your city fall so badly a war machine had to be called in." The Shadow says.

 

Ruby eventually pauses, then tosses the chip towards Eve.
"Happy, you impatient robot?"


"So you're saying it's my fault my city is falling apart because I can't fight something with the strength to defeat your beloved goddess. My ass it's my fault, I'm only one lowly creature!" She roars.

 

Eve looks at the chip.


"Then maybe you should've tried to become something more." The Shadow says.

 

It's a chip with a salvaged connector, similar to the ones on the hilt of Iruk's blades.


"I can't become anything. My time is short, and those working against our enemy are... quite the dysfunctional group." Lidnis sighs, backing off.

 

Eve throws the chip back.

"I just wanted to see it." Eve says, muttering something under her breath.

 

"One thing you need to know about my craft; if I am interrupted, the object is erased. Otherwise, you get weapons like those I forged for your creator and Abigail's claws."

 

"You could've just told me." Eve says.

 

"I could've, but you don't trust me. If you don't trust me, why should I trust you? You're not my superior."

 

"I don't think telling someone "Hey, can you come back a bit later? I'm working on something that requires a lot of attention." requires a deep relationship between the people." Eve says.

 

"Well, it was literally black before I learned to see through animals' eyes. Aside from that, it was hard doing normal things like eating, learning, and especially walking. I can't remember how many times I broke something."

 

"While you're correct, I only reciprocate the respect you give me. Which isn't much. At all. If any."
