"True. That's Rineth, Ihra's caretaker. Don't expect too much of him, but he gets frustrated if you think he's weak."

 

Except, this was just a glimpse of what would happen.

Eve kicks Ruby's jaw upwards, before grabbing on to Ruby's throat with extreme force, straining Ruby's telekinesis.

 

"I rather not have a giant dragon kill me."

 

The illusion fades, Ruby and the chip being elsewhere as Lidnis can be seen trying to see what the commotion is about.

"He won't kill you. Unless you stand under him, then he will. Or if you jump off of his back."

 

Eve searches for Ruby with haste.

 

"Don't remind me about Kailee."

 

Ruby is loosely cloaked behind Lidnis, who has her claw on a gear.

"I mean he'd crush you or you'd fall really far and splatter against the ground like a falling icicle."

 

"Why would you think I'll jump on his back? I learned that lesson."

 

"Because he's our ride... unless you can fly?"

 

"Can a flock of birds carry me?"

 

"I don't know. Rineth is a more practical mode of transportation. I've never seen a bird open a portal."

 

Eve screams, firing two barely trackable projectiles. The first explodes before it hits Lidnis, causing a protective bubble to form around her which roots her in place in spacetime, while the other explodes under Ruby's feet, or rather, implodes. A black hole thrice the size of Ruby forms under her, sucking her in with immense force. It seems Lidnis is completely unaffected by the black hole, however.

 

"Oh...Wait, is dragons kinda like birds?"

 

Seems Lidnis is tooo fast.
The projectiles both detonate in front of Eve, other timelines shattering into apocalyptic paradoxes.

"Yeah... kinda."

 

"I mean, dragons are like snakes, birds, and all kinds of different animals."

 

"True. Yes, Rineth is similar to a bird, I suppose."

 

"Would Rineth get offended if he hears this?"

 

"Probably. Don't tell him I said this, but he's a bit too proud for his own good."

 

"Has he died before? It just popped into my head."
