    i have been looking all over the sewers for it and i couldnt find the prison key or the villager in videos i have seen.

    Go to the east gate, go under and enter the sewers. Just go strait from there until you find a teleporter. There should be a villager beside it

    The quest has been updated, so now you must kill a mob named "Thieving Rat" in order to get the key. Once you have it, you can exit using the black coal doorway at the end of the sewers.

    there is a friendly mob in the sewers that you need to kill to get the key
