Pokemon Sun And Moon Reactions *spoilers*

As some of you may know, the newest Pokemon games were released just a few days ago and having recently finished my copy of Moon, I wanted to know what you all thought of it.

 

havent finished it yet but so far it's really good
i hate the fact how it's very obviously aimed at new players and it takes fucking forever to progress through the game normally since most of the time you have to talk to npcs, but other than that its been amazing

 

Took 2 long 4 me... I've been playing it since my computer overheated :P obviously, it's back to normal ffs 3 days not on wynn

 

I only got the demo version but I will soon get it. :( am lonely I still don't have it

 

The champion is f*%#ing HARD. I had my ass handed to me two times and counting

 

Well, I mean, there is no real champion before you claim the title...

I totally agree. Up to the first trial was super slow and hand-holdy, but after that it was awesome.

 

I'm trying not to spoil the ending. Let's just say the final boss is hard

 

All I'm going to say is that grinding for the elite four is the most tedious thing ever and was a very poor design decision, there is zero wild pokemon around that level and a minimal amount of trainers. It's ridiculously tedious and there was an obvious level gap where there really shouldn't have been one. I respect the decision to try and make the Elite Four truly difficult but this was just not the way to go about it. Rest of the game so far has been absolutely phenomenal though!

 

I had 15 revives and 35 potions going into the elite four. I had 5 potions and revives going into the champion. that should say a lot.

 

I somehow beat the E4 and champion in one try with my terrible team.

 

What team?

 

I dont remember exactly but it was something like:

Exeggcutor, Hariyama, Beautifly, Lunala, Primarina, and one other pokemon i dont even remember.

 

Man, the E4 themselves were harder than the champion for me. I only ever really had trouble with the Grass trial's totem, which I blacked out on twice, and the final boss of the main plot (not the champion)- screw that Clefable. I mean, the E4 were challenging, definitely, but nothing too horrible. I guess I just had a good team?
Never really had a problem with leveling, either. I only had to grind twice, and both times were when I was adding a new member to my team. Granted, I did get the boosted XP from having 2 hearts of affection in Refresh, but even with that, I was usually anywhere from two or three levels under to two or four levels over whoever I was fighting.
As for general reactions to the game, best story, best characters IMO.

 

I had trouble with the fire and grass totem, but for me the final boss of the story was relatively easy; I just had Mudsdale heavy slam the clefable

I agree. There was quite the level gap, and I think the only reason I was able to beat them was because of my insane potion stack...

Yeah, both times I fought the final boss of the storyline I died. Once on the first time, and twice on the second. I was surprised how hard it was, given the precedent X and Y set. God that game was a joke in terms of challenge.

 

Beat the Pokemon League. Was 5 levels under and still kinda stomped them. But the Champion. THE CHAMPION. Started out pretty difficult but towards the end they sent out a specific Pokemon that absolutely slaughtered my team. I would've lost if I hadn't hoarded Max Revives. While I beat the Champion my first time fighting them, it was still really tough, and that was WITH me having a Golisopod AKA the Destroyer of Worlds.

 

They fucked up. If you give your pokemon some pokebeans in Refresh, then go to the pokemon cafe at the pokemon league pokemon center, the guy gives you a rare candy. But they didn't add a limit, so you can literally just continuously get free rare candies.

 

So in the start of the game, I went extremely slowly and caught every single pokemon I saw and battled everyone I saw. By the end of Melemele island, I had level 25s in a level 10 area. By the time I reached the E4, my team was so over leveled that the E4 was actually relatively easy for me. The only person I had troubles with was the flying type person. I had to waste like 10 revives.

The champion was easy because of how broken Pokemon Refresh is. My strongest guy should've died three times, but they just sat there with one health and tanked the hits over and over with the stupid "your pokemon survived to not make you worry" thing.

 

How did you catch a Wimpod? They always run away from me before I get to them.

 

Either block their escape route, or just charge at them with Stoutland. I've done both.
