    Say I have 30 dex, and I'm wearing the helmet Cumulonimbus, which requires exactly 30 dex. If I hold Slider, which gives -21 - -39 dex, does the helmet come off?

    No if you still have 30 dex, but if your points arent mainly dex or at least 60 points to combat the negative, them it will

    Holding the weapon won't take your armor off, but it will affect your dexterity in that it gives you a lower chance to crit and all that.
