Loot Bonus?

So I have 2 questions about loot bonus.
1) More loot bonus % means better rarity of dropped items or more quantity of items dropped? Quality/Quantity?
2) Does loot bonus affect loot chests aswell?

Is the formula for calculating loot drop released? (ie: can i tell my chances of getting a mythic based on my loot drop %?)

 

You should be able to, as long as you have the initial drop rate.

Here are my observations with a 115% looting set:

1) I found a greater amount of items being dropped with a high loot bonus versus a lower one. On top of that, actual items/weapons tended to drop more often with the loot bonus. So, it increases both the quantity of emeralds/items and it increases the quality of the items (more items dropped versus no drops or junk drops). I'm not sure about the tiers of the items, but I believe with a higher loot bonus you're more likely to get higher tier items.

2) Loot bonus should affect the loot chests, though if the chest hasn't "aged" long enough the contents will be lackluster. Worlds that have recently been looted or have just restarted will have loot chests that may have 1-2 emeralds and maybe 1 item, regardless of the loot bonus level. When looting chests, try to find a world with a yellow player number (40+ players) since these worlds may have been around for a while without a recent restart.
