Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'm planning on sniping Ruby down, we just need to keep her in one place." Eve says.


My eyes glow a bright red as I look around for magical residue of portals or teleportation.

 

"A projectile? Good luck. You'd need some serious luck to pull that off."


The entire room is covered in residual psyblast energy, but no signs of actual teleportation or a portal opening.

 

"I'm sure I'll be able to. I've had years of practise." Eve says.


Curious, I summon the watch of true time and a white crystal, which flattens and expands into a large rectangle. I hold the crystal up and place the watch of true time next to it, reversing time to a few minutes before Amber's death, which appears on the screen. I wait for Ruby's appearance and study where she comes from.

 

"There's years of practice for aiming... she has millennia of practice for dodging."


Ruby just sort of appears, the light given off killing the nurses in the room. After the psyblast, she siphons Amber's blood and writes the message on the ceiling before disappearing as a guard comes in to investigate the sudden uproar.

 

"I've had practice with Shadows which can move at the speed of light whilst in darkness. They have plenty of time to dodge the oncoming projectile, and yet I've never missed." Eve says.


I desummon the crystal and watch before putting more focus on searching for any kind of residue from Ruby's appearance.

 

"We'll see if you make your first miss." Rineth says, a bit skeptical.


There is residue, but nowhere else to trace it to.

 

"I'm built to kill, no matter the circumstance or target." Eve says, crossing her arms.


I decide to take Amber's body, before heading through the medical ward and into an elevator. I teleport to a large graveyard of sorts, before carrying Amber's body to an empty patch and digging a hole for her. I gently lay Amber's body in the hole before filling it in, and writing 'Amber' on a gravestone which I jam into her grave.

 

"That's what scares me." Rineth says quietly.


Seems her lance stuck itself next to the gravestone.

 

Eve gives a slight evil smirk.


"You didn't deserve this fate." I say quietly, before leaving.

 

"Don't turn on us." Ihra mutters.

 

"I won't. My code is fairly secure, as well as kept in a place very few people can access under the guard of someone extremely powerful." Eve says happily.

"So weird saying 'code'." Eve says to herself quietly.

 

Ihra smiles, then laughs a bit.
"Well, nice to know I have more friends!"
Rineth rolls his eyes. "Didn't you mean to introduce her to Ragnyon?"
"Robots have futures?"
"Duh..."

 

"Can they see through time? Past and future?" Eve asks.

 

"Only future." Ihra says. "She can't walk well, though."

 

Eve lets out a quiet sigh of relief.

"Well, maybe she could get some robotic upgrades to help her walk?" Eve asks.

 

"She's not a robot." Ihra adds.
"Are you going back or not?"
"I don't know!"

 

"Oh, well, she could still have some kind of robotic parts she could wear to help her walk." Eve says happily.

 

"I dunno. She's a bit insecure around robots." Ihra says, looking like she's going back to the city.
"She's just insecure."
"Oh, you're nice in the mornings, aren't you?"

 

"Why is she insecure?" Eve says, trying to keep the peace.

 

"Because she's old. Why don't you just come say hi to her?"
"Ihra, you know where I'll be."
"Yep. Thanks, Rineth!" Ihra says, taking off back towards the city, aiming for the upper entrance.
