Guide To All Those Who Don't Want A Slab As A Bow. (texture Fix)

Hello,

Recently I have seen countless threads complaining about how their Relic Bow/Olux Bow is a spruce slab. Well, I figured out a way to reassign the appropriate texture with the item used for the bow, so now everyone can shoot with a bow again!

Here are the steps below: (I'm using Windows)

Spoiler: Steps to change the texture

1) Access the "Run" window and type in "%appdata%". Double click the ".minecraft" folder.

2) Double click the "server-resource-packs" folder. Inside you should find a file titled "eaa1421d0ec2f6a83882ef387eeb7182b0f1fa06". (It's a bunch of jibberish, but this is the file name.)

3) At this point, make sure you have software to open the file, such as WinRAR or 7-Zip. 7-Zip is a free software, so if you don't have the software yet, you can download this to proceed.

4) Right click the file and click "Open with". Choose the file manager option for the software mentioned above.

5) Once you open the file, you should see two files and a folder named "assets". Double click the "assets" folder.

6) Double click "minecraft". Then, double click the "models" folder, and the "item" folder after that.

7) At this point, you are greeted with several ".json" files, each with different block names. Each one of these files changes the mentioned block into the item model.

Upon observing the texture pack in singleplayer, the model for the Relic/Olux bow texture is with "Dark Prismarine", but the item in game is a spruce slab, causing the model to be assigned incorrectly.

*Pay attention to these next steps very carefully!*

Find the file named "dark_prismarine.json". Rename the file to "spruce_slab.json".

Make sure to save the file. Upon changing the name, if you enter Wynncraft the slab should have changed back to the appropriate texture.

If there are any issues, feel free to comment about them and I'll try to help. I tested this method and it will change the in-game texture back to normal.

If this is against the rules in any way, please tell me. I know this is an issue, and this is a way to fix it, but at the same time I don't know if modifying the Wynnpack is illegal or not.

I literally posted a step-by-step guide on how to fix the bow texture for the recent 1.9 texture pack. I even put it in a spoiler for the sake of viewers...

Are you referring to the "Guide" thing I put before the title?

I did that because this thread is, in essence, a "guide". It guides people through a step-by-step process regarding fixing the bow texture in the texture pack.

Trust me, I've seen people use the "Guide" prefix on posts that aren't even close to a guide.

also can u help for wands? i have lunar spine, bobs wand just turning into shovels and pickaxes. (lunar is supposed to be green wool and bob is supposed to be a type of slab i dont remember

 

I can go on single player and figure out the item the model is connected to. Basically, you do the same process for the other items (replace the current item holder with the actual item).

Also, @Rycinator, did you happen to download the updated texture pack? I believe the shovels and pickaxes have to do with the recently outdated resource pack (the one without the 1.9 models).

 

i still use 1.8.9 cuz of the horse bugs (are them bugs over yet)

 

If that is the case, then the Bob wand and the Lunar Spine probably aren't broken. In fact, with the older texture pack still active, I think several items are diamond shovels or pickaxes.

This thread is primarily for people using the new texture pack and having the items turn into blocks rather than the respective model. I don't really understand the shovel/pickaxe glitch, especially since it affects multiple weapon textures and not just one (like the bow).

Bumping this so any other confused/annoyed Olux Prized Slab users can fix the issue.

Also, if there are other bugged textures for the updated texture pack, please tell me so I can figure out the item associated with the model.

 

I have the same problem with the ''Infinity'' bow, Im at the files rn but Idk what the model of the bow is...

 

@ItzRaoul: The "Infinity" bow uses the same texture as the Relic Bow and the Olux's Prized Bow. Fixing the texture with the above method should fix the Infinity bow texture as well.

I also feel there are other items that may need fixes, but I haven't pinpointed them yet. Every now and then I see a player holding a slab...

I am aware of that issue ever since I made the signature. I tried changing the font size and tweaking it several times, but I couldn't get the link to show fully.

I may eventually fix it whenever I have time (and maybe add a few other links of relevance).

 

It's too bad they have a fixed size for the sigs...

 

Probably the only way I can get the full text to appear is if I decrease my Undyne gifs slightly smaller. I resized the gif so many times that I didn't want to do it again despite the slight cutoff.
