What Happened To Swarms?

Ever since the Gavel Expansion, I have never seen a swarm, so I started to ponder something...

In a more recent patch (and by recent I mean a few months ago), Salted said that swarms were being updated, but in what way? Removal? Further development? Well, whatever the staff did with swarms, they either removed it completely or made it almost impossible to find. And there's still an abandoned swarm tracker.

Well, i'm not one to ponder things, as I have little detail for anything, so please tell me your thoughts on this matter!

 

they are back, but they are still being worked on and not very common (and the swarm tracker wasnt abandoned it was closed due to people posting random stuff on it)

 

I say never, but I know what a swarm is.

 

A while back they did say swarms will be back but there are still a bunch of bugs to fix with it so just be patient on them:3

 

Back in 1.08 (yes, i'm a grandpa), they used to be my main source of XP before quests, and now that they've been gone for some time, it's been a little hard on me that I have to grind for 5-6 hours just to get up a level. I hope they fix the bugs soon.

Well on the beta they were testing swarms but they were still buggy and extremely laggy! I think they had like one or two swarms when they had released the gameplay update but even then it was buggy so I guess they stopped it then so they can still work on it. For now, grinding and questing will have to be the way you get your exp until swarms are fully fixed which who knows how long could be.

Once upon a time, the content team decided to add swarms back in the gameplay update. They weren't finished yet so the update was released without them, with swarms planned to be released in a few weeks. The content team continued to work on swarms when, surprise, here's Mojang with a giant knife called EULA. Mojang stabbed the admins forty three times each until they removed GC and had to drop everything they were doing to make a new store before they went broke. Swarms were put on hold until then.
And that's where swarms went.

Long ago, the swarms thrived in all cities. Then, everything changed when the bugs attacked. Only a Dev, master of coding, could stop them, but when the server needed them the most, they vanished. A hundred years passed and my Salted and I discovered the new Dev, a creeper named Jumla. And although his coding skills are great, he has a lot to fix before he's ready to fix swarms. But I believe Jumla can fix the swarms.
Store update happened, we had to shift what to work on.
