Official Event The Great Item Naming Contest: First Edition

Hey, everyone. Selvut283 here. Now didn't I mention something like this a few months back...?

Yes that's right. I'm opening up an item-naming contest. The polls didn't lie; most of you wanted to design your own item, but we can't just have everyone making an item. Names, though? I don't know if anyone recalls the Item names thread from awhile ago, but hoo boy do I, and there were some really awesome, creative names in there! This is the time for that to become a reality, and to use your creativity to the best of your ability.



Of course, there have to be some rules to this.

1) You can submit three names per contest! I'll be holding multiple of these as time goes on, so really pick your best. If you submit more than three on your post, only your first three will be taken into consideration.
2) Don't spam your submissions over multiple posts. Put them all on one post.
3) Super unrelated posts or repeat posts will be generally get deleted.
4) Items have to be reasonably named. Naming something like "MinecraftPlayer10000000's Cool Wand" isn't gonna fly. Neither is anything super inappropriate. No "Not-A-Dildo"s here, folks. Admittedly, some items have pretty silly names like Overly Ironed Pants, so those are okay to a degree, but also no huge references like "Mario's Hat".
5) I'm choosing what items the names get applied to, so items like "Super Cool Spear", "Really Awesome Chestplate" or "Sorta Okay Necklace" will be rejected. A name has to be able to be applied to at least three item types(two, for accessories).
6) You can specify if something is a weapon, armour piece, or accessory, but nothing more specific! Note that this specification is optional, you haven't GOT to specify if you've just got a really cool general name.
7) Don't give your item stats; you're only submitting a name!
8) Other Game Masters may not participate; they can just make items on their own. Other staff members may contribute, though.

If you break any of these rules too grievously, you'll be banned from the contest via thread ban, until the next one.



Don't blow it. If you guys prove you can't be trusted with this, I'll stop holding it, and I'd hate for it to get ruined for the creative minds of the server.

After a certain amount of time has passed, I'll close submissions and cherry-pick the best names! If I can't decide on a few, it'll go to a vote among the content team. All of them will get a Community Event Winner tag, but depending on how much I like it, you'll be awarded either a third place, second place, or first place prize as well!


1st Place: You get to work with me to create the item in question! You get to choose what kind of item it'll be, as well its stats!(Restrictions: No Mythics, subject to item balancing and general scrutiny) You'll also win 15 LE, and a free copy of the item once it goes ingame!
One person can win this juicy prize!

2nd Place: You get to pick specifically what kind of item it will be!(Restrictions: No tier/stat specification) You'll also win 10 LE, and a free copy of the item once it goes ingame!
Three lucky folks can win this prize!

3rd Place: Your name is used for an item in an upcoming update! You'll also win 5 LE, and a free copy of the item once it goes ingame!
Five creative people can win this prize!




This first contest will last for two weeks, ending on November 10th, 5:00 PM EST!

This means entries are closed! A winner will be chosen in a few days, be patient.

I really want those creative juices to get flowing! After two weeks, I'll pick the best of the best and contact the winners.

Only your first three are being considered. Glacial Harpoon can't really be applied to enough weapons to be valid. Re-read the rules.
