Probabilities When Breeding Different Horses Together

People say that you shouldn't breed two different horse types together, but I cannot find any information about the probablilties of getting different horses. The better same worse system becomes ambiguous when dealing with two different horse types. I would really like this information to be added to the help section.

30% to go down one tier (breeding two brown horses this is just staying the same tier)

 

What are the probablilties if you breed a black and brown horse together?

 

Don't quote me on this, but it's probably the same as breeding two Browns.

 

If you breed 2 different colors you will never get a better horse. It treats it as breeding two of the lower tier. For example if you breed a black and brown the game rolls for two browns.

 

I thought it automatically gives you the lower tier horse.

 

No, if you hit the 20% success chance you'll get the tier above the lowest one you put in. For example, breed black and brown, breed is successful, you get a black.
