I liked it too, it's just that there was so much that was never really resolved that it feels like so much is missing. I mean, we don't even see how the main villain dies and a major piece of the plotline (the Masterpiece) is literally never explained.

yeah, and that's what i mean by valid reasons- there are a ton of questions that were never answered (what happened to LE, what happened to all the trolls not seen in the new universe, what happened to DD, what is up with anything regarding gamzee, etc) but i guess i'm just able to ignore those and appreciate the ending. some of the questions (lie with DD and gamzee) are a bit more irksome given that they're just plot holes, but with LE and the new universe in general, i actually like how open to interpretation it is. you wanna believe they beat LE and all the non-dead trolls lived happily ever after alongside the humans? go for it. you want to headcanon that after what we see in act 7 LE shows up and fucks everything over again? you can do that too.
i guess i'm just a s u c k e r for happy endings and so being able to have a happy ending helps me look past the plot holes and legitimately like it

I like open-to-interpretation stuff too but once you get to too many plot holes, eh...

I'll take Homestuck's ending itself as good, and if I were to pretend that all of the major plot holes were filled in from before Act 7, Act 7 itself would be a pretty good conclusion. It's mostly just that it's preceded by retconning a dead character back to life and erasing a ton of character arcs (the concept of the retcon was great, just executed poorly and turned into a convoluted excuse to bring Vriska back), a ton of unexplained details, and post-Gigapause, the whole thing was pretty much just left to people who weren't Hussie which lead to Collide being epic but lacking narrative value in a lot of areas.

There's a lot of problems but I sort of can't blame Hussie. He kept this up for 7 years but I think his dreams were just too much for one person, the narrative just became too complex for one person, and eventually there came a point where an ending had to come soon, especially since he was dealing with the Odd Gentlemen incident and other Hiveswap-related struggles, some of which we might not even know about. So, was the ending rushed? Yeah, little bit. Was it justifiable? Eh, I can understand it. You can only have so many hiatuses and only for so long. Gravity Falls' fandom barely survived their constant hiatuses.

 

I'm a Heir of Heart so i belive i'm able to defend myself and do other things with the power of my emotions and personality? That sounds cool imo
