Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Katie seems to slowly get better whilst inside the ice, her smaller wounds closing up.

"Who do you think did it?" Stephanie asks, worried.

 

"No idea. Maybe that fake light draconian that tried to get me to kill Aj?"

 

"Maybe...but why would they hurt Abigail and Katie?" Stephanie asks.

 

"To get to his head, of course."

 

"There are three reasons why someone would want to kill or harm someone else."
I say, walking over.
"One: To get in more of a powerful position. Two: To get an item or currency. Or three: Becuase they are not right in the mind."

 

Ruby rolls her eyes.
"You implying something?"

 

"Thank god they're still alive, though." Stephanie says, looking at Katie in the ice.

"So...a hit was put out on Abigail and Katie, or the attacker was insane?" Stephanie asks worriedly.

 

"The only thing that I intend to be implying is that our offender knows what they're doing."

"Basically, yes, but I don't believe it was the latter."

 

"Barely."

Ruby glances at Stephanie.
"Whatever happened was extremely stealthy. Word never got to city hall. Could be the fact that most people here are dead or wounded."

"Glad you're not as accusative as my ex. Ask anyone at city hall; I've been there almost the whole time we've been here."

 

"Well...now I'm worried. What if they're out to get us too?" Stephanie asks, scared.

"Didn't Ihra say something about a light draconian that turned out to be trying to attack Aj? M-Maybe it's a light creature, and it's trying to hurt us." Stephanie asks, shaking nervously.

 

"It was a light creature. There aren't light draconians."

 

"Oh god...while it's dangerous to walk around at night or in dark areas because of Shadows...Light creatures are more dangerous because they can look like anyone, and they can move as fast as a Shadow anywhere that's lit." Stephanie says, clearly scared.

 

Ruby laughs.
"I don't see how that's an issue. Ihra absorbs their lofe force as energy naturally; plus I'm more than happy to add another energy drain to my repetoire. A few good psyblasts does a body good once in a while."

"An attack on the unsuspecting. They're picking the group apart while we're divided in the city." I say, walking towards the group.

"These attackers either used the advantage of surprise very well, or they simply overpowered the two."

 

"Well...I hope you can stop them." Stephanie says, scared.

"Abigail and Katie are very strong, and judging from their wounds, they put up a fight. I can only think it was a mix of both." Stephanie explains, trying to calm down.

 

"The conclusion I can come to, then, is that they had a moment of downtime, and some assassin or assassins may have attacked them, and then overpowered them before they could fully muster themselves." I say.

"Or you know, vigilantes."

 

"I'm just worried it'll happen to me...they're guardians, and they can survive a lot more than I can. I...whoever is trying to kill us might succeed with me." Stephanie says, terrified.

 

"If you're that worried, I'd recommend sticking with the group." I say.

I approach the place of the attack and look around for any clues as to what attacked them.

 

Apart from ice, hot coals and a lot of blood, there don't seem to be many clues.

 

"Then let's stay alert."
I say confidently.
