Art Spring

This drawing (artwork?) is part of an attempt to create an unique design for some mythics, with the lore of the item being used as inspiration. Keep in mind, this is the first time I am posting on the forums (ᵖᶫᵉᵃˢᵉ ᵇᵉ ᵍᵉᶰᵗᶫᵉ), I apologise for the fact that I cannot post the image as I do not have 10 posts.

Item lore: Arrows fired by this bow are pure ice, but when they hit the enemy, burst into magical water, dealing damage to all that it touches.

With the lore in mind, I first realized how impractical it would be to have arrows made of actual ice, they would just melt, wouldn't they? And so, I thought, why does it have to be actual ice? Couldn't it be just water? But where would you keep it? I wanted to distance myself from "the generic bow", and then I had a pretty nice idea: what if there was no bowstring, and just water instead?

The way I imagine it, water would condense around the crystals at the ends of the bow limbs, and then would just float where the bow string would be. When an arrow is needed, the water drops merge, take the shape of one and then the blob freezes, after which it's ready to use.

That's pretty much it about the bow itself, I hope you guys like it, and if you want me to make more of these, please shower me with support (and suggestions!).

Just to clarify some stuff, Libra is a bit shy so im gonna talk for him. He plans on making some more artwork with this topic (mythics). How do you make your letters different colors?

 

Even with only one example, I'm really enjoying your art style, especially your interpretation of how the ice-arrow mechanic would work. I'd love to see how you'd make Monster into a visceral horror.

I never thought I had an artstyle (or at least I thought it was very inconsistent), but thank you very much! And don't worry, I have ideas aplenty for what Monster would look like. Probably involving body horror. Lots of it.

Could you also show the effects it has on a popular forum member? (as in, the transformation applied to him/her)

 

Not sure if I'd show the transformation on a popular forum member, maybe on a ragdoll/mannequin sort of thing. Although I have no idea if I could manage to draw anything similar to what I have in mind, I'll certainly try! I will be very busy the next few weeks, so I am not sure as to when I will be able to draw. Oh, and the mythics on my list right now are Monster and Gaia.
