Can Someone Explain The Sudden Rise Of Those "reaction Portraits" Or Whatever They Are

I feel really out of the loop here, why is everyone suddenly doing this. I mean I kinda get it might be to like show how you reacted to it, but then isn't it kinda just a huge bandwidth eating emoji?

 

Well, Selvut started doing, then Bubbles did, and now Jamie does it.

Other than those three, it's just the ever-present reaction GIFs that've been around forever.

 

Alright, I get whose doing it but why is what puzzles me. Reaction gifs I get, they can be quite humorous at times and can add a nice comedic effect. But these don't add that (from what I've seen). Like if you want to express emotion then you can use an emoticon or try very hard and use creative writing, but a huge portrait every post? I mean come on.

 

Since I don't personally use the Reaction Portaits, as you've dubbed them, I can't say for sure.

I can guess, though. They might feel that emojis can't express what they're feeling precisely, or maybe they just want a personalized emoji.

Anyway, Emotes are used as a new way to share your emotions.
Throughout the amazing internet messaging system, we've seen people get misdirected by a text/message, because you can't see their reactions or tone of voice.
For example, you might see a sarcastic comment like, "Augh, I just want to die" as maybe an actual suicide attempt.

Emotes not only let people understand your emotions, but help them see if you need to "Back Off" or "Give me a hug."

Not only that, but they are extremely popular and fun to use on the Wynncraft Forums.

 

I thought nepeta started it? Or maybe selvut and nepeta did it at the same time.
