Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Alternate timelines lead to alternate selves...he wasn't the same Aj." Artemis says pleadingly.

 

"All stemmed from mother trying to protect me from him! If he can choose to kill his so-called best friend on a whim, I don't know I can trust him!"

 

"Well, maybe he was an alternate self who had violent reactions! Our Aj wouldn't kill any of us on a whim!" Artemis pleads.

 

"Every timeline was a branch that separated from the moment he and mother started arguing. It was almost this Aj, not much different, and I just can't trust him right now!"

 

Artemis just looks crestfallen, a look of failure in her eyes.

 

"If he wants my trust, he can start by getting rid of Abigail. She's almost killed me - twice - and she scares me all the time..." Ihra groans.
"Then I'd accept that he's not just doing this for himself."

 

"What? But, Abigail is a valuable member of our team! Sure, she can be rude and harsh, but deep down she has good intentions and care!" Artemis says defensively.

"Wouldn't it be better to talk things out with Abigail instead of using Aj? She's less...emotionally succeptible, right now; and this sounds like a problem you have with her." Artemis adds, calming down.

 

"It is a problem I have with her. Her recklessness has almost gotten me killed several times, and I've asked her to change befote... which did nothing."

 

"Well, tell her you really mean it this time. I'll go get her." Artemis says, walking back into the city. A vine hand taps Ihra on the shoulder, a hand stemming out from it holding a cup of honey.

 

Ihra takes the honey, eating it somewhat grudgingly.
"Mother just wants to protect me. I mean it this time." She mutters.

 

A short while later, Abigail walks over to Ihra, sitting down next to her but giving her space.

"I'm sorry." Abigail says sincerely after a long wait.

 

"I don't know what else to say. I've asked before, and I'm fed up with everything right now. I can't think straight right now, Abigail... Please, help..." She utters, crying as she hugs Abigail.

 

"Well...I know of something that takes the edge off when I'm stressed." Abigail says, hugging Ihra.

 

"No lava baths. No food. I just don't know who to believe... Lidnis isn't wrong, but you all still want to be friends... I'm just kinda stuck..." She cries.

 

"No no, it's something we can both enjoy." Abigail says, taking out a cone of a strange substance and gently lighting the top on fire, before extinguishing the flame, leaving it to smolder. Thick, foggy smoke rises from the cone, which fills Ihra's nose with sweet smells and makes her feel incredibly relaxed and calm; her thoughts easing out.

 

"It... it's just like the caves mother hid me in when I was younger..." She says, then starts to look down again.

 

"Hey...don't dwell on the sad parts...just chill and think of all your good times." Abigail says, losing her touch with reality.

 

"Like?" Ihra asks, relaxing.

 

"Well, I dunno. Remember when we first met and I called Rineth a perv? Hahaha, gooood times." Abigail says happily.

 

"Oh, right. You're not helping. He saved your ass and you won't let him hear the end of it!"
