"It's like if Nathan suddenly became Abigail's legal parent. That's what I'd compare it to."


"I'm going back to city hall. You can do whatever, if there's still things to do here in this half-ghost town."

 

"W-Wow...I...I can't really see him in such a negative light...I mean, I know Aj's done some bad stuff, but Nathan is...he's just evil." Artemis says.


"Isn't there a group of guardians helping out here?" Myria asks.

 

"There's no other people for me to try to save. Vei didn't get the resistance to another world before she died. I may as well just give up; there's only maybe three dozen that would kill now." Ihra sighs.


"Which is why there's not a lot to do."

 

"Aj could help. As I've said, he's very powerful, so he could be a useful asset..." Artemis says.

 

"He has been, but what now? My kind doesn't trust him, he killed those I tried to save... What now?"

 

"I don't think he intended to kill them, it was more of a knock on effect. I mean, he didn't kill Ragnyon, did he?" Artemis asks.

 

"No, but she was like a freed prisoner." Ihra mutters.

 

"Still, he hasn't killed Ruby or Lidnis either. I think Mother even said he stopped Ruby from dying by changing time around." Artemis says.

 

"Lidnis committed no crime and Ruby was threatening Abigail. Mother wasn't a threat; tell me why she's not here!"

 

"Because...Aj had an accident with her." Artemis says sadly.

I wander for a bit, searching around for the group.

 

"Holding me as a shield doesn't feel very accidental. Killing mom intentionally in dozens of timelines doesn't feel very accidental."

 

Artemis just remains quiet, looking sad.

 

You find Ragnyon off exploring on her own.

Ihra sighs.
"I'm sorry. It's not easy to forgive him for this... I didn't mean to be so rude."

 

"I just...I just want you two to be friends." Artemis says sadly.

 

"He used me as a shield and made me watch timelines where mother died, killing me in some... I want to be his friend for all the help he's given me, I want to be his friend because mother wanted that... but it's not as easy as 'mother said so' anymore..." Ihra cries.

 

"What? W-When did he make you watch alternate timelines?" Artemis asks, shocked.

 

"As he killed mother."

 

"Aj told me he never directly...well, Aj told me he just defended himself." Artemis says.

 

"Killing me in some timelines counts as defending himsef?!" Ihra says, confused and frustrated.
