Attack Speed Effecting Spell Dmg

so recently I've noticed that my mana blast does much less damage the my infused hive with 5 tier 4s on it, even though the infused hive has much less base elemental damage with the tier 4s not only that my mana blast has 23% spell damage and 118 raw spell. Does the attack speed being slow effect it in any way? If not can someone explain to why mana blast does such little damage but has a much greater set of base damages then my infused hive? Thx

 

The amount of attacks per-second is the multiplier you get.

Very Slow weapons get a 0.7x multiplier. Fast weapons get a 2.6x multiplier. Do the math for yourself.

 

Is it meant to be like that? Cause if it is then I've been going at builds all wrong, and has it always been like this and I'm just stupid and never noticed?

 

It's always been like this.

Of note is that Attack Speed Tier IDs do NOT affect this multiplier. If you have +2 attack speed tier on a Slow weapon, it will attack at Fast speed but its spell multiplier will still be 1.3x, Slow.

 

Huh so that means infused hive is better then Bonder.

 

In strict damage terms, yes. But, Bonder also has intense health and mana regenerative ID's and is generally bent more towards support-play, so.
