Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Stephanie skids to a stop, laying down on a rooftop near to the power plant to keep watch over the group while remaining somewhat hidden.

 

The group seems well-distracted, but the draconian seems to just be out for a stroll.

 

Stephanie tries to get a better look into what's happening inside the power plant.

 

There's two workers frantically running about, keeping everything moving.

 

Stephanie jumps back on her skateboard and skates about the roof a bit, gaining momentum before using the roof as a ramp to try and jump onto the power plant.

 

I separate out the more interesting looking ones from the more bland looking ones.

 

She barely makes the jump, her board falling down to the ground.
One of the workers comes out to see what happened.

The smaller ones from children tend to be less interesting than the longer ones from adults.

 

Stephanie tries her best to grab onto the wall, and if she does, holds on tightly.

 

Aside from getting the wind knocked out of her, it's easy; the ledge is easy to grab.

The draconian walking around offers Stephanie some help up.

 

They go to the nearest guardian and Daras says, "Do you know what the explosion earlier was?"

"The Serpent was destroyed a while ago. I helped kill it."

 

"No, the giant quadruped that's been eating mountains for quite a while now. What do we do about that?"

 

I take as much as possible that can fit in a large pouch, the longer ones taking priority.

 

"Oh, that. Has it been harming anyone?"

 

Stephanie takes the help, looking down at her skateboard woefully.

"I think it was the power plant. I wasn't here when it happened, but from the looks of it, it must've been." Tirra says.

 

You fit all but a few tiny horns that belonged to an infant.

"No, but... No doubt it could."

"You're brave to come back, Stephanie." The draconian whispers.
"I'll get it back in a moment, but I want you to leave my people and never return. You killed half the people who know how to operate the generator, but it wasn't with malice, was it?"

 

Stephanie backs up, standing on the very edge of the power plant. She holds her dart gun shakily, keeping it at her hip.

 

"Shh, you don't want to shoot the one in charge. I don't believe you did it with ill intent, but I'm only one vote of a whole council."

 

Stephanie just stands on the ledge, considering her options. She quickly glances back down to her skateboard before snapping back; face still well hidden by her mask.

 

"Why have you come back? Do I need to get imprisoned again to have an honest conversation?" She whispers.

 

Stephanie glances back at her skateboard, seemingly making up her mind.
