"What cause is that? Besides, I don't really know if there's only one right cause."

"Crystal seemed distracted and you were starting to let that careful word choice slip."

 

"The Shadow King...I-I don't know if he's such a hero anymore..." Tirra says through sobs.

 

"They're pretty much on death's row."
I whisper.
"I decided to go with Crystal's uplifting tactic."
Crystal's still thinking about something.

 

"Who, Aj? He's really nice! Why?"

"I know, and Crystal's still derailed... That's why I pulled you out of there."

 

"He killed not only one of the resistance leaders of your kind, but hundreds of the resistance too!" Tirra says, tears streaming down her face.

 

"Well, it's good that someone helped them out, anyways."

"How many ways can someone die?"
Crystal suddenly asks.

 

Ihra drops her demeanor and slides to the ground, bad memories hitting her like a hammer.
"Yeah... I still miss mother..." She sniffs, hugging Tirra.

"Someone can die in countless ways. From combat, long falls, suffocation, being eaten, burned... the list goes on forever."

 

"I'm sorry...A-Am I a bad person f-for idolising him a-and working f-for him l-like I have b-been?" Tirra says, face wet with tears.

 

"N-no... He's been protective of me, kind of like a dad, but... I just don't like thinking about it..."

 

"I-I don't understand anymore..." Tirra sobs.

 

"It's okay... A-at least you're an adult, right?" Ihra says, trying to cheer Tirra up.

 

"I'm twenty one..." Tirra says, sniffling.

 

"I started this when I was about seven in human terms." Ihra says, patting Tirra on the back, or trying to.

 

"W-Wow...that's really young." Tirra says.

 

"The allure of treasure. Something that will make them say, 'How I wish I had that!' Or something."

"It's the least I can do. Mass cremation isn't exactly the best way to do it." I say, "Also, have you any idea on what I can do with the horns?"

 

"I dunno what you were told, b-but he really isn't that bad. Sure, he may be a genocidal demon who killed mother, but he keeps trying to make it up to me... Not like he ever will, but I appreciate he's trying..."

 

Tirra sniffles, cheering up a bit, "R-Really? So...he feels guilty about killing all those people, and wants to make up for it?" She asks.

Tirra smiles, "I-I guess I shouldn't have doubted him...thanks, Ihra." She says, getting up.
