How can I know if something is duplicated?
and is duplicated items still exists? (I played here 2-3 years ago).
I'm scared of making big deals now since I might get scammed and than I can even get banned myself for using those illegal items that I got from scammers..
    Any help please?
    thx :P

You can't be sold fake LE, very unlikely. Duplication was fixed long ago and the only illegal thing to buy is old armor and vanilla items.

That's fine, as long as it doesn't have the old item format. What you have is collectable, therefore worth more. It's illegal to sell it for more, nevermind.

Wait it's illegal to have diamond gear from pre-Gavel that's now iron? So like 3000 people got banned when Gavel was released?

Not really. If someone wants to buy it for that much, than yes, it can totally be sold for that much.
It's just the same item anyways. Don't tell me you wouldn't accept an offer to sell a Euphoric Fedora (low level rare) for 5 LE. (I was actually offered that once, but I already gave it to an item buyer)

I asked about old armor that's the wrong tier (diamond instead of iron etc) and Selvut confirmed it's not legal to sell it for more than a normal version.

It's funny how everyone says it's illegal to sell pre-diamond-now-iron stuff for more, but doesn't realize that there is absolutely no way to enforce this rule.

I beg to differ with you on your assessment that the rule cannot be enforced. If a person were to ask more for a diamond armor piece, specifically because it is diamond, and we have proof of same, there is something that we can do about it. As the vast majority of players on Wynncraft are honest and do not like or appreciate scammers, many of these scammers get reported, with sufficient proof, that the Ban Hammer falls on the scammer. Sometimes we catch them in the act and verbally warn them, which is usually sufficient to halt their activities.

IIRC, You can still buy old armor, you just can't charge extra because it's old. Don't quote me on that, though. Ask a mod.

I don't know man. It sounds like the rule can only be enforced while someone admits to the violation of it.

Now what if it's an auction? What if people voluntarily bid higher than normal for the older armor, without any prompting or sheparding to do so by the auctioneer? The auctioneer is not asking for more than normal, people are simply coming with higher offers on their own accord, which may or may not be linked to the item's age. How would you then blame the auctioneer for unfair sale?

Do you want the auctioned items to be unclear as to their age (I.e. the auctioneer cannot disclose whether the item is pre-gavel or not), or will you outright ban auctions of these older items and restrict them to single sales?

As for what you said earlier about private sales, how are you comparing whether or not that item is selling for "more than it should" just because it is diamond? There are far too many factors driving the prices of items to clearly discern whether or not age or rarity of an item is the reason it is being sold for more.

All in all, the entire rule can only be enforced in what I view as subjective conjecture and not concrete evidence and fact.
In my opinion, (Warning: brutal capitalistic views ahead) people should be allowed to charge whatever price they feel like charging in a free-market style. Anyone who buys an item and feels cheated because it wasn't magically overpowered because it was old has only themselves to blame for not asking anyone for a second opinion before buying. It should rarely be the fault of the seller for selling an item at a higher price to an underinformed shopper.

As a caveat to that argument, information should be made readily available for these kinds of situations. Even though you could ask almost any member of the staff or the price check thread, there could be a simple thread to delineate how old/rare/event items work.

Admitted or not, if a seller gets caught asking more for am older diamond piece of armor, because it's diamond, they are going to get into trouble.

What part of what I wrote is unclear? "If a person were to ask more for a diamond armor piece, specifically because it is diamond, and we have proof of same, there is something that we can do about it." "If a person were to ask more for a diamond armor piece, specifically because it is diamond." IF the seller asks more for the item because it's diamond, they are going to get in trouble. That applies to all situations. It says nothing about the buyer's choices. If a buyer wants to spend more on a diamond piece of armor because of aesthetics, that's fine, that's their choice. If the buyer says "Hey, I'd really like to have this in diamond, if you have it, and I'm willing to pay X more for it", that would never be a problem. However, if they then turn around and say "It's diamond, so it costs X more. You want to buy it?", THEN, as the seller, they are going to get into trouble.
