Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Sup." Ignia says.

 

"S-s-stay back!" He says nervously.
"Hon, hurry! Just get out of here before it drops us in!"
Their supplies move away from the lava, as does the man's wife. The man backs away slowly, nervously holding his knife-tied-to-a-stick.

 

"I'm not like, a lava demon or something." Ignia says, climbing out of the ground.

 

The man freaks out and turns tail, sprinting away as he leaves a small piece of food on the ground.

 

Ignia picks up the piece of food and flies over the man, landing in front of him and offering the food.

"There's still a city in Brisingr we're working to protect and fix." Ignia says.

 

His wife passes out, and he holds his spear, even shakier than before.
"P-please... just tell me what you want! I-I'll give up anything if you leave us alive!"

 

Ignia just hugs the man, "It's ok, it's ok." She says soothingly.

 

This gives him serious burns; Ignia had just been in lava...

He pulls back, falling to the ground. He pokes Ignia with his spear weakly, but it doesn't even scratch her armor.
"L-l-leave, demon!" He barely utters.

 

"Jeez fine." Ignia says, flying back to her lava pool and diving back in, but keeping an eye on the man in secret.

 

He collapses, a few bandits that had been tracking them starting to move in.

 

Ignia immediately jumps out of the lava and throws a fireball at the nearest bandit.

 

She misses, but they all flee afterwards.

 

"Damn bandits." Ignia mutters, looking for somewhere safe to put the pair.

 

There really isn't anywhere safe. Cave, forest, or out in the open.

 

"Dammit." Ignia says to herself.

Ignia suddenly remembers something, and grabs a black crystal from her armour.

"Hey, I've found a couple of...uh, stranded people I guess. It's not safe where I am, so do you think I could get a group to come rescue them?" Ignia says into the crystal.

"Who are these people? Are they in desperate need of help?" A voice replies.

"I don't know, but they don't really have anywhere to go, and they're unconscious right now. It looks like bandits are after them too, I don't have anywhere safe to take them, so maybe they could be rescued and relocated to somewhere safe?" Ignia says.

"Very well. We'll send a team to your location to pick them up. Make sure you resume your work for Lidnis afterwards though." The voice replies, before the crystal fades.

Ignia stands guard over the pair, waiting for the team.

 

The woman stirs, then glares at Ignia after a moment.
"N-no... You demon... Y-you didn't..."

 

"Scare off the bandits coming to kill you and take your stuff, then call for people to help you, keep you safe and take you to a city where you can live? Yes, I did." Ignia says.

 

She looks at you in disbelief.
"You lying hellspawn..."

 

"What are you going to do?" Ignia asks casually, "Even if I'm a 'hellspawn', despite my kind often being confused for dragons instead of demons, and I've called for an army for demons to tear you apart, what are you going to do? You don't really have anywhere to go, nor do you have weapons to fight me with. I'm trying to help you here."

 

"You're no dragon... They don't try to bathe us in fire, unlike you."
She's barely staying conscious, sweating.
