Just a build i made a couple months back :P

The concept is fine, but the details are not so good.

Red [Base and Roof]= There are the right details, but the realization is not so good, you have to do the details on more levels or the build will be flat.

These are the details of a recent roof that I did, using 3 blocks with the almost same color: http://i.imgur.com/qmPW25r.png

Blue [Columns]=Add a block to create a nice shape with the almost same color of the cyan clay

Yellow[Details on the structure]=Like the red color,try to use more level for detailing.

So baisicly detail the roof (mainly the frame) and add layering?

 

Yeah, and when you add layering, use different blocks, but with the almost same tonality.

This is really good, but the only thing I would change is that u should try to mix the stone brick with some cracked stone brick to make it just a bit better.

Ha this isn't a necro!

So for the red (nether brick) it lacks of detail, I need to add more detail to the nether brick (curves, swirls, my vocab can't keep up) along with other materials with the same color (red sand stone) with the same pattern behind it with minor or major changes. So instead of just triangles, I need to use a better shape/frame with details on it, with the same or different detail behind it

I might be wrong since you only showed examples of 2 roofs

try and detail and mix stone brick wit cracked stone brick and maybe mossy stone brick idk, but other than stuff the other people have mentioned 10/10 m8
