Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Oh, so then you came from the castle. Did you happen to see Stephanie on the way out?"
I seem more interested.

Crystal realized he's staring and says,
"Sorry."

 

"I think I heard her getting shouted at. Really loudly." Aqui says, shaking.

 

"Oh, she's alright, then."
I'm relived.

 

"In a sense." Aqui says, smiling awkwardly.

 

"Yeah... She did explode a generator out of rage. She deserves whatever's coming to her, I just wanted to know that she's not dead."

 

"Oh, that's okay! They're sort of dying, and I can't save everyone!"

"I was created to kill. Self conscious gave me knowledge in the middle of combat, but also doubt. With it, the desire to no longer be used to kill innocents."

The lava is just randomly spurting from the pool that is now Brisingr, other floating islands on more stable plumes visible above.

It... crumbles. Tirra will need something a lot stronger to make the replacement out of.

 

I look at Iruk and smile, having personal experience with that.

 

He glances at you, nods, then gives his attention back to Victus.

 

I look back to Aqui.

 

"How did she blow it up?" Aqui asks.

"Maybe you could help us save them?" Aqui asks.

"Well, don't." Victus says.

Ignia dives back down to see what's causing the lava to spurt.

Tirra looks for some spare metal she can use.

 

"Electricity. And a lot of it."
Aqui can see a spark in my eyes.
"I mean a lot."

 

"I'll try, but I wanna grow flowers here! The park is really sad without them!" Ihra says cheerily.

"Yeah, thanks. Got that far, with help of a reboot."

It's just heat convection, parts of the lava being pulled down and others being forced up. It's obvious there's some kind of lasting magic that's making the process so violent, though.

There's none in the proximity, but perhaps Tirra can find some elsewhere? Maybe...?

 

"Wow. She must be powerful!" Aqui says, surprised.

"That's what Victus and I are trying to do!" Aqui says happily, "We're going to make farms!"


Mortimer walks over, "Any progress?" He asks.

"The soil here is devoid of nutrients, I've started work on revitalising them though." Victus says.

"Good. Aqui?" Mortimer asks.

Aqui summons small rain clouds over the soil patches, and Mortimer focuses on speeding up the process of the acorns by using some of the life of the surrounding party.


Ignia swims out of the lava, climbing back into the city and looking for Tirra.


"I'm going to need some metal. Think you could be my eyes in the sky while I check for some on land?" Tirra asks politely.

"Sure." Aeris says quietly, flying up and looking for any signs of metal or scrap yards while Tirra does the same through the city.

 

"Plan, prepare. Brisingr is too dangerous a place to conduct an attack. We're heading out to the Darklands to set up a trap."

I go over to the upside down houses.

 

"She is. So is the king. Makes things a little... rough sometimes. But thanks for helping out!"

 

Ihra pauses.
"In... the middle of the park?"

Ihra looks confused, her staff converting to an axe as she shakily looks around for the source of her life drain. Iruk's confused.

Ignia finds Tirra at an odd staircase that seems to go upside down.

Tirra's search brings her to an odd staircase and an upside-down building with some metal scrap inside. Aeris, however, doesn't find anything aside from a fair-sized plot of dirt.

"What resources do you need?" The healer asks, serious.

The windows show that the belongings have fallen scattered and broken on the ceiling... which looks like the floor, which is tiled.

 

I don't seem to mind the intrusion, yet.
Crystal, however, seems confused.

 

Helianthus motions for the taller one to say.

I check to see if there's anyone inside.

 

"It's what I was ordered to do."

"Well, I think Victus is just trying to see if the soil will work." Aqui says.

Mortimer appears to be the source of the drain as saplings start to sprout out of the soil.

Tirra focuses her telekinesis, shifting the gravity around her to walk into the upside-down building to collect the scrap.

"Hey, Tirra!" Ignia shouts.

"Yes?" Tirra responds.

"Why are you in a flipped house?" Ignia asks, confused.

"There's metal in here. I'll need you to forge it for me." Tirra responds.


Aeris glides down to where Victus, Aqui and Mortimer are.

"I think I found some farms..." Aeris says quietly.

 

"Just tools. Durable, at that. Some poison, too, maybe flint and steel for dramatic effect."

Only a scrawny corpse.

Ihra pokes at Mortimer.
"Can you not?"
Ihra pauses.
"Hey, are you an angel?" She asks, pointing confusedly at Aeris.

Tirra has to grab the scrap off the ceiling. There's a pretty grim-looking scene; a young draconian lies dead, starved under a chair. The adult lies bloodily sprawled on the ceiling, a broken vase and dead flowers around them.
