Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

The guards can just about see a flash of electricity speed out the main exit before they have time to react.

Stephanie speeds through the city, dodging people and obstacles with ease, running for the edge of the city.

 

"Alright. The only problem is that I have no idea where they're going to in the Darklands and when."

"Time is of the essence." I say, frustrated.
The water orb splits into four, and three of them are thrown to the ones asleep. The other one remains floating.

 

What moves as fast as electricity?
A Volt.

Stephanie finds herself being pushed towards the chronosphere barrier; certain death if she touches it.
"What a sad way to die... A friend for life, a murderer in death." They growl, keeping Stephanie in a tight, draining grasp.

"Then we set up while we can."

The three jump awake.
"No. We won't speak if you won't give us any respect."

 

"Again, where do we set up? The Darklands is a vast place."
----
"Forgive my intrusion, but time is truly of the essence here. I have heard that the cronosphere barrier is not doing too good, and if my proposition is accepted, we'll need as much time as possible to move everything through the portal." I say, bowing, "If I may, I would like to now present my proposition for the evacuation of Brisingr."

The water orb morphs into an hourglass to emphasize time.

 

Stephanie lets out a loud cry.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ!!!" She screams.


Within a few moments, the volt finds vines wrapping around his legs as an empowered Artemis grabs him by the head and attempts to snap his neck with extreme force.

 

OOC: If only Helianthus and his gang were here.

 

"That's probably her."
I say to myself, running over to get a better look at the scene.

 

"That's the beauty. We take our time, then set a ruin as bait. The chances of us being found are slim."

"Make it quick. Your powers don't save you from torn time."
"I have to go. Something's wrong."
One of those who were sleeping heads outside.

The Volt explodes violently, pushing everyone backwards, who then appears with an electrified dagger in Artemis' back.

Another draconian seems to be wearily running towards the fight.

 

A melting ice hand catches Stephanie before she gets thrown into death, and Katie and Myria run into the scene.

Artemis screams in pain as she gets shocked, blood spurting out of her wound.

"Aj, get Artemis and the others out of here!" Myria shouts.

A portal opens up in the ground in front of Artemis, who falls through as Stephanie and Katie dive through too moments before it closes. Myria grabs one of the starving draconians and drains their life, killing them and powering herself.

 

I stand back, and decide not to involve myself in the carnage.

 

There's barely any life for Myria to steal.

The draconian moves impossibly fast following you through the portal.
"wait..." She pants.
"p-please, what... what happened?"
It looks like she just woke up.

 

Myria sizes up the situation.


Artemis limps through the medical ward of the Shadow Palace, a trail of blood in her wake. Stephanie just collapses on the floor in shock, shaking.

"All I know is my friend Stephanie just wanted help." Katie says, shrugging.

OOC: Pun not intended.

 

"Ah, I see. When you're ready, let's get going."

"My proposition is to evacuate all the draconians and their belongings to my kingdom, where they will provide service in exchange for housing and supplies." I say as the hourglass morphs into a map of Perniciosa. "The manner of getting there is simple: I will open up a portal to a suitable location in my kingdom. Once in my kingdom, all draconians are subject to the kingdom's laws; however, they may establish a draconian settlement in a suitable location, which will I will then make my protectorate."

"In case you are wondering where my kingdom is, it is in a far flung corner of this world. The only threat to it, so far, is me and those airship thieves."
OOC: Just in case, the map is still made of water.

 

The guards seem to be standing down, but watching Myria closely.

"She killed a dozen healthy draconians... but why?"
Artemis' wound bleeds significantly slower.

"Not like I'm doing anything else. Ready when you are."

Two of the three seem in deep thought.
The male stands up and slams the table.
"No. We cannot risk being under another again. I don't know what kind of ruler you are, but I know and fear what every ruler can become; a tyrant!"
"We have no other choice!"
"That's what you said about the Hive Master! How'd THAT turn out for us?"
The others hesitate.
"Your laws, your tax, your rule... Do you two really want that?"
The females seem to go into deep thought.

 

Myria puts her scythe away, keeping an eye on the guards as she nonchalantly heads towards the exit of the city.


"I don't know." Katie says innocently. Stephanie just cries on the floor whilst shaking. The draconian seems to have got some attention from her presence.

"Who are you, and what are you doing here?" A guard asks.

Artemis drags herself to one of the surgery rooms, before falling unconscious as I stop empowering her. I immediately go and get some surgeons.

 

As she gets closer, the city's still clearly on lockdown. Not even the main entry is open; the chronosphere encloses everything.


"I am Lidnis, and I wanted to ask this girl why she killed my people. We're starving, yet she kills a dozen who are healthy enough to work... I don't understand."

 

Myria just waits for the city to become open again.


"And do you have permission to be here? Do you have proof you are who you say you are? Where do your people live?" The guard asks, sceptical.

Katie tries to comfort Stephanie, before just picking her up and looking for somewhere to lay her down which isn't the floor.

 

Helianthus nods, and then goes to where the portal to the void was.

The map morphs into several (for lack of better word) holograms depicting several locations in Perniciosa (e.g. Airship docks, castle, mines, toxic swamp, etc.)

 

Half an hour later, the gates still aren't open.


"Your king could tell you, though I suppose I deserve to be held prisoner for my stupidity thinking his party could be reasoned with, if this is how you all handle peace-seeking affairs." Lidnis sighs, laying down her staff, kneeling, and holding her hands behind her back.

It's still open, but you left barely two hours ago. Hopefully you can make up a good reason for being back so soon.

"It was a no-brainer!"
"Wrong. We simply wouldn't be any better off."

 

Myria just sighs, reaching out to contact me.

"Aj, do you think you could open a portal for Abigail and I? I'd rather not wait around here for much longer." Myria says.

A portal opens under Myria, which she falls through. Meanwhile, a portal opens in front of Abigail in the lava, which she swims through.


"We handle peace-seeking affairs differently, however we can't just let any stranger who came through the same portal as someone who's badly wounded and someone in shock have free roam of our palace. For all we know, you're an assassin." The guard says, cuffing Lidnis and confiscating her staff.
