Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Helianthus says to the tallest one, "Alright, I want you to kill two of the prisoners. You and the one you spare will be granted semi-freedom. Understood?"

Helianthus draws his sword.

 

The other three look at each other in shock.
"Aren't you going to unchain us first?" The tallest asks, seemingly impatient.

 

"Yes. I just needed your confirmation." Helianthus says, cutting the bounds of all four prisoners and backing away, pulling out his crossbow as well.

"Start fighting at your will."

 

The three band together, and the tallest one seems to be waiting.
"You three, who'd you wanna see killed?"
Two of them thrust the third forward, but the one thrown forward is thrown to the side.
"Then you two'll pay for the same greed that got me here..."
...
It's an ugly scene, but it's safe to say the tallest one could probably go through twenty more opponents before taking a break.

 

Helianthus sheaths his crossbow and sword, but keeps both in easy reach and approaches the two once the fighting is done.

"Alright, I think its safe to say that its time for the catch to your freedom. You two will be serving under me as part of my mercenary team." Helianthus says, setting up a makeshift circle.

 

"Recruiting prisoners is pretty low..."
"You broke, sir?"
The pair enter the circle reluctantly.

 

"It is low, but then again, I have gone to beyond low." The circle glows bright.

Helianthus hands the shorter one Leo's crystal.

 

The shorter one holds on to it uneasily.
"At least you can admit it." The shorter one says.
"I didn't want freedom, but it sounds like you'll let me crack skulls to make up for it."

 

"I'm out for revenge on a certain group, and it just so happens that a certain deity of another race's wishes matched with mine, so I decided to start serving her. I've been given the task of slowly eradicating straglers of the group."
The circle glows brighter, and the shorter one can slowly feel his soul melting away.

 

The shorter one just buckles and falls into a heap. The taller one pulls out of the circle.

 

"Looks like a more subtle approach does the trick." Helianthus says as the shorter one stands up.

"Lets go and get you two suited up for combat." Helianthus says.

 

"You have extra armor...?"

 

"I believe you hold the King responsible for the problems in the world?"

"Yes, I am an old friend of his."

"I could, but I prefer this form. If anything, it helps to be in this form. I can still hold things or do things I could with a physical form, but I can also pass through physical things from time to time and I can't be 'killed' normally. I can still be erased, or put into a soul crystal, suppressed or destroyed in some way."

 

"Hm, sort of like a budget Shadow then? I was only going to suggest a soul crystal so you could be put into a body, but if you can still interact with the physical plane then you're probably better off without." I say.

 

"Of course. What does he expect us to do, cut off from our mines? We got our metals from Brisingr - what does he expect us to do now?!"

Does he think you're dead?" Ruby asks, confused.

 

"Yes. And if I don't, there should be some in the blacksmith" Helianthus says, handing the other prisoner a cloak.

The prisoner puts on the cloak and puts he good over his head.

 

"Alright, if you insist. Who are we going up against, anyways?"

 

"Draconians; beings from another realm, as well as some humans from another realm who are strongly inept at their magic."

 

"So, humanoids with the strength of dragons and extremely powerful elementals? How exactly do you think we'll be able to help you?"

 

"Frankly, you two will be there to handle the weaker ones. Keep them or the group as a whole distracted while I pick them off one by one."
