Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Helianthus turns and points both his sword and his crossbow at the nearest person.

 

...which is nobody. Nobody's in sight.

 

"Oh, does that spell not work on two people?" Helianthus thinks out loud, before slightly burning the edges around his cloak, taking off his hood, and then giving himself a small cut on his cheek with his sword. He then walks back to Greenhill Stronghold.

 

As he gets back, the gates are locked and nobody seems to be there to open them.

 

Helianthus yells for help and knocks on the gates.

 

The guards simply come out, look around him, then glare at him.
"The hell do you want?" One shouts.

 

"What?!" Helianthus says, clearly confused. "It's me! Sir Robert, your old captain!"
Helianthus pulls out his sword and shows it.

 

"You look awful similar to the man who just wrecked the library..." They groan.

 

"You mean the shapeshifter that went after my books?"

 

"That's what that was?! Urgh... How are we supposed to believe you? If it really was a shapeshifter... just how are we to tell the difference?" The guard asks, confused and hesitant.

 

"I don't know, but you'll just have to trust me on this one." Helianthus says.

 

"The shapeshifter knew the rituals you use... I don't believe that knowledge that complex can be copied..." One of the guards shouts.
"Sir Robert, why didn't you just say it was you?"

 

"The books he stole from me gives very detailed information. It's actually quite easy to do a ritual yourself you have the capacity to and if you have the books." Helianthus says, "Or so I am told."

He then pulls out one of the books and opens to a random page, which shows detailed instructions on how to create a circle for exchanging souls.

 

"Alright... We'll let it slide, for now."
The gates open.

 

"Thank you. If I can, can I please speak to the captains of the stronghold? I've just taken an interest to the current constructions going on." Helianthus says, putting away the book and sheathing his sword.

 

"I suppose."
The doors to the captain's room open.

 

Helianthus enters, and then looks around for the captains.

 

They're just in their room, working with some sketches of the fort.
"Hello, Robert. Good to see you're still in decent health." Jonathan says, breaking the silence.

 

"Ah, Thank you. It's good to see that the Stronghold is still standing." Helianthus says, "So, if you may, could you please tell me any interesting events that happened lately, excluding the shapeshifter attack?"

 

"We found a decent ore vein, and we're expanding and reinforcing the fort."
"No attacks let us train hard and work hard without much stress. Seems the Brisin fallout scared a lot of the monsters here."
