In all my times of playing gavel, i could not understand attack tier. So lets we take a apoc, correct? Lets say it has super slow attack speed, but then lets say you add something like a makani or item with + attack speed. Does the damage increase, decrease or stay the same as the damage listed on the apoc?

Hopefully i can clear this up

    Thanks

The damage is the same, you just hit faster.
I believe the spells will stay the same as well.
+Attack tier only affects Melee now with the recent bug fix if I understand it correctly.

+tier attack speed does what it says: Increases the attack speed of a weapon, if you have a weapon with Super Slow attack speed and you have an item with +tier attack speed, it will now be Very Slow, the attack speeds being Super Slow --> Very Slow --> Slow --> Normal --> Fast --> Very Fast --> Super Fast.

Even if you apply +tier attack speed to a Super Fast weapon, nothing will change, as Super Fast is the hard cap for attack speed, same goes for any items with negative attack speed IDs; it's impossible to go below Super Slow.

The +tier attack speed ID, while not changing the properties of your damage itself, is still a buff for melee damage, as with increased DPS (damage per second), you'll be more damage with your Apocalypse at a faster rate than Super Slow, making +tier attack speed very melee-oriented.

However, keep in mind that +tier attack speed will not change the spell damage multiplier of the weapon, only the DPS. In case you don't know, the attack speeds add a spell multiplier to the weapon to balance out the attack speeds, with Super Fast having the highest spell multiplier, and Super Slow having the lowest, even if you have enough +tier attack speed to make a Super Slow weapon into Super Fast, it'll still have the Super Slow spell damage multiplier, as I already said, it's very melee-oriented.

There was a bug before the Gameplay update the tier attack speed would effect the spell damage multiplier, making it essentially the spell damage IDs on steroids, it allowed Alkatraz to do 100,000+ damage uppercuts (no joke), thankfully, it's been fixed.

Attack tier just increases the weapon's speed. I think it's bugged for bows rn but other weapons it works.
