Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Helianthus requests to enter the captain's room.

 

"No, not until we know who you are." The guards half-shout, readying their weapons.

"There's still floating islands. There's gotta be something left." Ihra says, trying to comfort Abigail.
"Or answers, if nothing else." Ruby adds.

 

"How did this happen? Who let it happen?" Abigail says, sliding to the edge of Rineth to get a better view.

 

"None of us know, but I did hear of a Brisin myth; if Reflet, their goddess, dies, then Brisingr will fall to the core."
"That had to be what happened... but how?"

 

Abigail lets herself fall off of Rineth, freefalling to Brisingr below.

 

She didn't wait long enough...

Sgavrinn swoops down and grabs her before she falls into the ocean.
"Hey, at least wait until we're closer. We're an ocean and a nation away while we were at the Lost Kingdom." Ruby says flatly, awkwardly calm.

 

Abigail just lies on Sgavrinn's back, silent.

 

He hums softly, nuzzling her as he lands on Rineth.
"It's alright. At least we didn't go there earlier, lest we would've been caught in the middle of it."

 

"Not like it would've hurt me much." Abigail mumbles.

 

That's one for those who would still be alive. Two because Aj would probably find a way around the fire. So... That's two of us."
"Three if you count me." Ruby adds.

 

"What is there to do though? I was so excited to meet that fire goddess...now I'll never see her." Abigail says, distant.

 

"We find who killed her, and we get revenge."
"And the draconian city... And all the floating islands..."

 

Abigail just looks lost, staring up into the sky.

 

Ihra wanders over to Katie.
"What do we do now? That kind of ruined her motivation to travel with us..."

 

"I think Abigail will cheer up once she gets around fire. I used to find her near volcanoes whenever she was sad." Katie says, looking up from her conversation with Myria, Stephanie and Artemis.

 

"Alright. I guess when we get closer..."

Sgavrinn nuzzles Abigail as he puts her down on Rineth's back, then curls up around Artemis.

 

Artemis laughs, still trying to talk with the others.
