Hello, and welcome back to Featured Wynncraftian! For those new to the series, this is where us moderators interview notable players in the community. You can even nominate someone here, if you'd like.

These episodes will serve as a midseason finale, we will be taking a break for some time and gather interviews during this time and post them in a future date, more info on that later.

Now let's move onto who's being interviewed, this time around I am interviewing three content team members from the GM side of it.

Without further ado, I present to you @Abandonedbank @Tantibus and finally @Selvut283 answering some basic questions.

What is your favorite quest that you made?

I don't like any of my quests.


Why, the greatest quest of all time, of course: Fantastic Voyage! I love it because of its amazing rhyming NPC, its variety of content, and of course, its very fun place.


I only actually have fully made two quests myself. All the others were started and left unfinished; I simply picked them up. So, under that scope, Shattered Minds is the obviously superior product to the little fetch of Crop Failure. Encompassing all quests that I have worked on, however, my favorite by far is The Qira Hive, for sake of the challenge factor. I do hope people enjoy the quest, considering how much repair-work had to go into it to even make it functional.

What is your favorite quest that you didn't make?

I don't play Wynncraft.


I'd say Beyond the Grave. It starts off scary but then completely defies your expectations with a silly Stanley Parable mansion. Also, the boss is pretty cool.


That is a tricky one. I do tend to find myself looking forward to WynnExcavation Site D, Beyond the Grave, and The Mercenary, however I can't seem to choose a favorite. WynnExcavation for sake of its scale, Beyond the Grave for Death's dry wit in the mansion and the Krolton battle, The Mercenary simply because I enjoy the quest as a whole. Call me a cop-out, I can't pick.​

What do you actually do as a GM?

Mostly turn Grian's ideas into yml.​

I work with YML to make the quest and mobs actually appear in-game (which is torture to bug-fix, by the way). I also direct and manage builds for the quests, making sure that the builds don't interrupt the flow of play.


Mostly, I create items, as the teaser trailer's "Selvut made 900 items!!" statement would attest to. However, I am also good at balancing enemies. I often get asked for an opinion to help balance mobs or bosses. In particular, I love making bosses. This eventually led to the boss altars, which I headed development of. I am essentially saddled with the "odd jobs" aside from the usual large quest developments.​

When did you become a GM and why did you want to become one?

Dakota was just like "apply" and so I did in November 2014.


I became a GM almost two years ago now. I wanted to become a GM really just because I thought it'd be really fun to make quests. And as it turns out, it was actually t̶o̶r̶t̶u̶r̶e a lot of fun to make quests!


I aspire to be a game designer in the future. This was an opportunity to get started. I want to say I joined the team two years ago but I'm in no way sure of the actual date. I'm probably wrong on that. Plus, I was a part of the old CraftedMovie server, and the idea of a Minecraft MMO...considering I was previously drumming up plans for one myself, it's safe to say I had an interest in the concept.​

Is there anything else that you would like the community to know about yourself?

Eh.


No because I have no life outside of Wynncraft. My entire life is slavery to the corrupt tyrant Grian. (If you're reading this please save me)


My favorite color is teal, I enjoy chewing on ice, my favorite food is spaghetti, and I have no idea if any of these statements are relevant to anything in the grand scheme of things.​

In all fairness, I didn't know what Bank's answer to that last question would be. I thought for sure he would say that he was the best GM. He was one step ahead of me.
