SPOILER The Hidden City - Easter Egg

Not sure if this has been posted already, but I found this awesome area.

During the quest "The Hidden City" you will go onto the airship. At the place where you shutdown the engines there is an emergency exit with a trap door above. If you go to the top of the ship and stand on a pressure plate this gate will open temporary, allowing you to drop out of the ship.





In the area below you can find some ground similar to the Canyon of the Lost.



On one hill you can find a villager and a notebook, saying the following:

Day 1 -- I've just arrived in this remote place. No signs of life so far. Finding this treasure should be easy.

Day 4 -- While looking for the treasure I encountered what looks to be an orcish camp. I didn't see any orcs though, but for now I will keep my distance.

Day 8 -- I decided to check up on the camp. No orcs to be seen anywhere. I can explore western part of the valley safely.

Day 15 -- There is nothing in the lower part of the valley. Perhaps the treasure isn't real?

Day 16 -- Success! I might've found a lead to the treasure. Under the river there was a chest with a note inside of it. The note points to an area by the big, smoking volcano. That must be it. I know it!

Day 17 -- Today is the big day. I am headed to the volcano right now with my mining equipment. Who knows, maybe the cave where the treasure is has caved in?

Day 20 -- Looks like the cave has indeed caved in. I've been clearing out the stones for three days straight with no signs of a treasure. But I will not give up. The treasure is somewhere here. It is.

Day 25 -- Eight days of digging and I hit a wall of bedrock. There is no way the treasure was in that cave. Maybe the note was there to mislead me? I'll have a look at the valley once more to see if I can find the treasure.

Day 28 -- I've turned the whole place up-side-down and the most valuable thing I've found is a spear from the orcish camp. I didn't fake my death for this!

Day 30 -- Maybe someone else took the treasure? Clearly someone else has been here before me. Who built these bridges? They didn't just pop out of nowhere! Maybe they didn't find the treasure? Maybe they didn't because it wasn't there?

Day 34 -- I'm slowly loosing my sanity. The food supply is low. I am going to die here, am I not?

Day 50 -- END THIS PLEASE

The rest of the pages have been torn out. Poor man.

You can look for the treasure from this point. I won't spoil it! At an other hill you can find a cannon which launches you back into the ship so you can continue the quest.

i found the treasure

go into the cave and at the end there is a 1/4th of a block that you can see the treasure through
i disconnected my wifi and broke in

 

So it just shows that the explorer was on the right track. It's just that he was so very close to it and decided that it wasn't there.

 

Oh dang, I was always wondering how you got to that area. I heard there was content in the canyon area below the airship but I didn't know how it was accessed. That's pretty cool!

 

why arent there chests in the loot area

at least reward players for finding a secret
