"Yes, I was with the group there. I was actually in Eras' room at one point. He was having some strange dreams... and certain nightmares. The guard came in several times to see if he was okay. I believe he had too much pure alcohol?"

 

"Oh, I'm surprised he can stomach such poison." I say, surprised.

 

"Gods can sometimes do surprising things sometimes. I think if he did that more often, even he would face some long term consequences."

 

"It's probably best to not drink copious amounts of poison at all." I say.

 

"No, nothing since. Any other ideas?"

I head over to Rineth.
"Assuming all is well and good, let's get going."

 

The healer puts her hand on your shoulder, startling you.
"Hey, you've got somewhere else to go. Think you can handle a small handful of big targets? We need you to go alone, lest they get suspicious."

"Is your guest able to follow us? I'll go when we're sure you're ready. Everyone else is rather impatient."

 

"Heh, I've got nothing to lose." Helianthus says, "Tell me where to go."

"I'm assuming he can."

I tell Enqo, "Make sure you're on Rineth, we're about to leave."

 

"Pick off a straggler. You seem to have a revenge quest on the group."

"Good. Then, when Hythania's ready, we're finally going."

 

"Ah, but the only problem there is that since I've lost my other body, I have no idea where they currently are, and who are in the group."

 

"You should know where you lost your other body... Don't you?"

 

"I do, but knowing the group, they've probably already gotten to the edge of the world or something by now." Helianthus replies, "Or you know, they could be kicking around in who knows where."

 

He replies, "I'm on Rineth, and I shouldn't be left behind when he flies."

"Good point. Though if you're a scientist like me, you usually end up doing that anyway."

"Hmm... you need to do something which will make the people trust you. I was going to suggest stopping any nearby monsters, but there aren't any. The next best thing would be to invest more time in things the people like. Of course, the city is already filled as it is, and using up space at the market squares might make the situation worse. I think you may have to expand the city and put these in the expanded area. Also, you could set up some trusted but not very well known people into public. They could then help to work out any other problems, which we could fix. Do you know what happened with the election in Nyme?"

I laugh, "Good one." I say.

 

He smiles. "Thank you. It wasn't very funny at the time though."

 

"Yeah. Drinking tons of poison isn't exactly fun afterwards." I say

 

"We can't expand the city when there's a riot at every other government building! As for Nyme, we've had communication cut off by the uproar. Anything else goes downhill, and I'm going to have more than anger at my throat."

Rineth takes off, slowly gliding towards the burning pit that was Brisingr.
"We'll see how our refugees are doing, then we'll look into the next steps in stopping the Hive Master."

 

"Sounds like a plan!"
Crystal says enthusiastically, moving himself to better balance himself on the flying Rineth.

 

Abigail sighs, choosing to stay put on Rineth's back as she watches the world below. Artemis hugs onto me tightly, scared.

 

"Luckily, I happened to have a lot of cures to test while it slowly killed me, or I might not be here... even in ghost form."

"It's that bad? I see... I think I will have to see this for myself. I'll see what I can do... or I might have to take more drastic actions again."
