So yeah... with the new update alot of things were added. One of those things was a mythic dagger called "Cataclysm". And I can tell ya, ALL the endgame assassin mains are trying to get one for themselves. But no one has realized, there's a way cheaper option. And it is...

THE SPECIALIST!

Yep, The Specialist. NOW, You might be going like

"Wut, u stoopid, rare dagger no good. Mythic better."

Well, you're wrong. If you got a specialist with max thunder damage (650%), and put two tier 6 thunder powders on it, it would be pretty close to a cataclysm. Here's the math.

1 T6 Yellow powder = +5-40 thunder.

2 t6 Yellow powders= +10-80

650% of 10-80 is 10-80(7.5), which is......


75-600 SUPER FAST ATTACK SPEED THUNDER DAMAGE! WHOA!

So yeah. You might be thinking.. "Well Cataclysm does like 250 more dmg without pooders"

Well, then again ppl are buying Cataclysm for 20 stacks.. and 2 t6 thunder powders cost 32 le. Also, 75-600 super fast thunder damage is pretty much 3/4ths of Cataclysm, for 1/40th of the price! Great deal, amirite. BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

The Specialist has a bunch of other elemental damage buffs, so it would buff any other elemental damages in spells by around x6 each, ALONG with adding around +10 skill points in each skill, and I think that's enough make it almost, if not equal to Cataclysm.

Due to calculations between IDs and stuff the final damage is not as great as you think, Selvut has mentioned that he carefully measured it so it needs a maximum roll of an element and its respective skill point to make it "op"

People have tried it on different build sets with this dagger and its performance is far from beating a end game mythic weapon just due to its funkiness

 

It's actually +15 base. And, given Cataclysm's natural abilities and higher base damage, it still reigns supreme in terms of damage.

 

I cant find this item on the item guide or wynnapps, can you post a picture?

 

Of course it does, it's a mythic. But can the specialist at least be as good as we think it can be given the scenario described in this thread?

Try using better powders. You only used T4's, after all.

btw t4s give +28 so that would only give u like 375 thunder dam max

 

I just noticed, your calculation is off.

650% is a 6.5x boost, not a 7.5x boost.

You're thinking of 65-520 damage.

it says +650%

The base damage already has 100%...

so you do the base damage times 6.5 added to the base 100%

It's not x650%, it's +650%. Just to clear up :P

Specialist does like 2.1x more with two max thunder powders... also it has around 200% more thunder dam making that 2.1x around 6x more

 

That's not the way that damage is calculated.
